There's nothing wrong with being lucky and sometimes it literally is just luck - a ball bounce, a ref call, etc.
The context we were discussing, wasn't that we shouldn't be premiers. Was that, to go back to back, we need to find something more next year. Next year, circumstances will be different. Teams will change and if we play the same as this year, we might not have things fall quite our way. A lot has to go right to win a grand final. Hence discussing the need to leak less points next year.
We're not all sitting around here naval gazing about how we don't deserve something. We're talking about what we need to do, to win the whole thing again!

Sat in the storm section for the game, they were giving it to us for being in their area and they didnt like it when I pointed out that they couldn't sell out their own section.

We sent 12-2 in the back half of the year. We struggled early because we had a new coach and injuries but once that got ironed out, we were clearly the best team in it. We didn’t just turn up once finals started, we were elite from the middle of the year.
We also had some marginal forward passes called against us which meant we had to score another try and then did to come back.
We finally got our team fo show maturity, close out close ones, chase down leads and show defensive steel in spades. We were the best team in it and went through the other three contenders in the finals and passed each test. No one had to do it harder.
We weren’t perfect because the overall standard this year was awful but we had pretty much the best attacks and they is of the better defense that in the end keep Penrith and Melbourne scoreless in their respective finals.
Just enjoy it and worry about next year next year but also, stop saying we fluked it or just go lucky, the facts above show that isn’t true.

Mate....we won. End of. all the we can better dialogue. Start that in March. We cannot improve in 2025
Thats not a great outlook...I don't know your background so will tread carefully but in my business we celebrate the wins...We lose tenders we scrap for business but we always learn and strive to be better. I expect that Madge will do that but take a breath...enjoy the moment! When the boys hit the ground after a little break. Send them the feedback of how shit they were...lucky to win etc...but let us all enjoy the win. Be a tough gig in your sphere of the world

It’s a week after we won. I wasn’t on here at full time banging this drum… I was jumping around like a lunatic with my kids and then took them to the stadium to celebrate.
Hope you don’t pat yourself on the back for more than a week after achieving something at work.

Spot on, you have to enjoy wins, particularly a win as significant as this one. This isn't a "enjoy the night and get ready for next week" situation.
I would assume that the coaching staff will do an end if season review..which will not be a back slapping session....They will look at recruitment...defence..attack. fitness etc and make a plan for 2026 based on lessons learned.....but not until at least the week is over...
