Reports that former Knights coach Adam O'Brien will head the Bulldogs as an assistant to Ciraldo

While former Knights assistant coach Blake Green will head to the Cowboys as an assistant to Payten
I'm assuming that AOB is a gun defence coach... so he heads to a gun defensive team where the head coach is in charge of defence.

Knights finished last, but the majority of the year they were like top 5 defence... it's not like he's going to the dogs to revamp their defensive structures

Why wouldn't he head to a team that is great in attack but shit in defence.

If he improves that team's defence then he will be back on the radar for head coaching gigs.

MIght put money on them missing the 8 next year. Their heavyweight spine of Haward, Galvin, BUrton, Tracey will cause nightmares with the mighty AOB steering the attack behind the scenes.

It's the opposite, he was attack at Roosters and Storm. The players raved about his attacking nous.

He was attack for 11 years at the Storm!

Wow. Didn’t Newcastle have one of the worst attacks of all time this year?

Who the **** was the defensive coach then?

Give that guy a phonecall and get him up to Brisbane

Pretty sure Green was the attack coach...and he went for the head coach job lol

And reportedly almost got it until the Newcastle board got wind of massive backlash. I really hate seeing that club being a basket case.

I think this year really exposed the Knights' entire attack being throw it to Ponga because they had absolutely nothing without him.

He could well be a gun assistant coach, sometimes they just don't suit head coaching roles.

Titans already got him... Brian McDermott I believe. One of the very few things I've got to be excited about currently.
Good pickup ... knights defence was top 5 for majority of the year.

A titans side that can actually defend would be a problem for the league.

Thoughts on the recent talk that titans are overhauling the roster? (is there only like 9 guys with a contract or something?)

Seems like it's necessary, but doesn't seem like a great time with Perth looking to build a roster from scratch

With Zane Harrison being upgraded this morning, I think someone posted a list the other day minus departures and expected departures and we're sitting at 21 players for next season. God knows where we find 9 decent replacements at this stage.

Really hoping we get Bai and JC sorted soon and at that point we've got the guts of a good squad there and I'm not too phased. Tino sorting himself out as well would be ideal.

None of the players leaving, except on potential, Gordon, are huge losses. I personally would've liked to see Khan-Pereira developed a bit more but most are happy he's gone too. We've also cleared a lot of dead weight in the development contract and low top 30 which is good. There were a few who'd been there a few years and never got near 1st grade.

Today I'm hearing Hannay has a Craig Bellamy clause for 2027 where he gets demoted to assistant if we sign him. It's a bloody rollercoaster but probably overdue.

On McDermott there was a lot of hype around him signing and I saw a lot of Knights fans unhappy he was going but probably didn't reach here because it's an assistant coach and was early finals maybe.

Titans absolutely have to lock down Cooper Bai... he looks like an absolute gun... and they're already talking about storm and someone else sniffing around (was it rorters?)... would be devastating to see a top team just come and vulture him right when he's ready to kick off his career.

Some of the contracts are so weird ... the extension of AJ after he had already extended like a year earlier, and after they had already signed JC and Kini.

There's just too many fullbacks in that team, when they desperately need a halfback.

One of the poddies was doing a review and they were talking about them needing a halfback and who could they actually get.

First one that came to mind was getting Fogarty back and how they missed a trick on that one.

His kicking game is elite and you give this titans team an ability to win territory they could be dangerous with their attack.

It will be interesting to see what Hannay does with the team.

I know that there is zero chance Bellamy is ever head coach at a club other than the Storm .... but if I was Hannay, I would have told the Titan's to **** off the second they proposed that clause.

Don't get me wrong, I don't particularly like it and am surprised Hannay accepted it. If he was already signed, fine. But it sort of defeats the purpose of having a coach for a year with that hanging over his head. Plus at that point, who are we signing players for now we've got rid of half the team? It's just disruptive.

If you ask me I wouldn't be surprised if Bellamy becomes some sort of Head of Football or consultant though. He's moving up here anyway.

It's odd that's for sure. I think you're onto something. He must have a handshake agreement that if he leaves Storm he will be a Titan in some capacity.
