Which club would have the strongest possible 17-man squad if they could pick from both their current players and any of their former players who are still active?

(yes yes, the GF winning broncos team. That’s the easy joke so I’ve got it out of the way for everyone)

Yeah Tigers would be able to add:

Lachlan Galvin, James Tedesco, Josh Addo-Carr, Lachlan Galvin, Mitchell Moses, Stefano Utoikamanu, Harry Grant*, Luciano Leilua, LACHLAN GALVIN!!!!!!, Shawn Blore, Luke Garner, Isaiah Papalii and that guy from Canterbury, what's his name?

Asterix besides Grant because even when he was with the Tigers, he was still signed with Melbourne.

Then there's borderline cases like Billy Walters, Matt Lodge, Thomas Mikaele, Luke Brooks, John Bateman etc. who could be factored in. To be honest guys like Leilua, Garner etc. could fit into this category as well but backrow is such an issue for the Tigers that I think those guys clear Seyfarth or whoever else they name there with ease.

It also depends on the scope. Do you include U/20s players so Te Maire Martin and Connelly Lemuelu can factor in?

What kills the Tigers is their lack of centres. You can throw Doueihi in there, but I always thought of him as a better half than centre. They have Taylan May now but it's like they have this selection criteria where their centres must have baggage before they can be signed. To'a might be the only clean skin and he's just OK.

The only player who'd make their starting team would be Tino, surely?

Just thinking off the top of my head, but they're still shy in the centres and backrow. Drinkwater, Hynes, Cheese, Atkinson, Walters etc. doesn't really solve it.

If you include 20s, you could add Fermor but that's not a huge upgrade on Blore.

EDIT: Addo-Carr is obviously another name, but he's strictly a winger. Right now you'd probably have him over Warbrick but it's debatable and not a huge upgrade.

1st time I've been able to say this in years, but thatd get flogged by our actual current team i think... That team may be better individually but could just imagine fifita with his lack of second efforts getting targeted, Farnsworth over calling walsh, dearden kicking half the distance of Reynolds and straight to the fb after a bad set... and isaako over mariner? No, no, no... and Bullemor over jensen/hethrington, or even talty, riki or smoothy is diabolical after the finals series. And flegler hasn't played for nearly 2 years.....

Nah Harry Grant can't count for Tigers... they were just lucky that storm chose them... probably because they weren't a threat to keep him

I love those 2025 players, but the added talent of Farnworth, coates, fifita, would destroy us

Farnworth maybe but he's not a massive upgrade. Coates goes missing in Grand Finals, and Fifita goes missing, well, all the time - he is the antithesis of a Madge player.

In short, no.

You're arguing for Shiba over arguably the best centre in the world. You're calling part time first graders better than Bullemor.

Your logic basically destroys the point of the thread.

This. Our grand final team was the perfect team. Everyone played their role. None of our ex Broncos who are still playing make us any better.
