FOOTBALL English Premier League 25/26 Discussion

I don't know about Sunderland's equalizer at the death.

Is it a high boot? Contact doesn't have to be made for it to be a foul. I've seen these happen before and the goal was ruled out. I guess it's one of those 50/50's that could go either way. I do think if this was in any other game, it's a foul.

2 points dropped from Arsenal, though. Can't afford to not win these games.

I'll be surprised if we win a game all season. We are genuinely the worst side i have ever seen in this league.

Tell you what though, Sunderland are having a helluva season so far.

We'll see if they can handle the backend of the season when the fatigue sets in but so far they are killing it.

I was expecting them to be around the bottom of the table.

I stopped watching at HT thinking you might nab a point somehow

We celebrate these days if we have a shot on target! 😂
Watched your game, that Bueno guy is quality.

Bellegarde tries hard, so does Andre, Wolves just have nothing going forward. I haven't seen too much of him but Strand Larsen has a horrible first touch based on the couples times I have watched.

Sadly relegation looks nailed on.

Nah, Gabriel was diving for the ball, so wasn't at a normal height for a 'high boot'.

Ooof that is light contact for a pen. Yes he touches him but they are never consistent with contact that light being a pen.

Definite penalty IMO.

It was enough contact to deny Doku the chance to take the shot which he was looking to do before he lost his footing from the contact.

The baffling decision though was Liverpool's goal being taken from them. Robertson is in an offside position but he's not blocking the keepers sight of the ball or obstructing him in any way from being able to make a save. That ball is going in regardless of Robertson being there or not. He didn't become actively involved in the play.

We got stomped, I didnt actually see the game as I woke up at HT and saw we were 2-0 down and went nah.
Will watch the highlights before I comment. A loss away to City isn't an abnormal result though.

Not even worth watching the highlights mate. It was an insipid performance.

Frustrating too, because I didn't think City were overly outstanding or anything, they just wanted it more.

A very strange tactical decision from the manager yet again.

Bournemouth try play a high press against City and get smoked. Meanwhile we play a low block against Madrid and have our best performance all season after countless games of an ineffective high press.

What does he do for this game?.... decides to go back to playing a high press. Pep must have thought it was Christmas with that gift, we were lucky he didn't put his foot on the throat and try win 5-0.

Deserved to get beaten for such a naive and reckless move. It's been painful watching this manager fumble the title defence because it's so obvious we have the players to be so much better.

We got cooked by Doku (great goal as well). Also yeah @ningnangnong Konate was pretty ****ing bad. We might have a huge problem that despite all our spending, our CB situation is starting to become a problem. VVD is on the decline and although he's still a good player, he's not quite the player he was esp losing that turn of pace. Konate is all over the shop and possibly gone for a free end of season. Gomez struggles to string 2 games together without getting injured and our other CB is gone until 26/27 - and he'll take 18 months to come back properly.

Mamardashvili was good though. Maybe we have our Alisson replacement.

As for the disallowed goal, I don't really have a problem with it. Donnarumma was never getting there anyway but if you're in the keepers way in an offside position I can't really see how it's not an infringement. I'd be pissed if that was given in a reverse situation.
