Broncos Roster, Signings and Rumours Discussion 2026

Thanks. That's a shame and a weird one. He isn't getting a game over Weekes and he would at least be a chance while Walsh is in origin next year.

I enjoyed watching Innes but I don't think he was anywhere near ready for NRL.

In terms of upside, I'm more upset over losing Bryenton. If he keeps progressing the way he did last year he could very well debut next year.

Looks like Gundry will fill the void left by Innes.

Which kids do you think we are locking in? I'm assuming Verhoeven, Poese and Francis?

I wouldn't put Poese in that company.

Coates, Horne and Scott are also obviously in the mix.

Cook, McSherry, Feaunati etc. are the other players coming through.

@ISIP may have some insight if he can find some time in his busy schedule.

The disappointment is real; I had high hopes for Innes. I really liked watching him play over the last three seasons. But I think like Black he just didn't move the needle enough this year.

They both needed a standout Cup season to say I am getting close.

I think the Broncos have used NRLQ to show them how close they're and cleaned it out after that. The thing that would have kept Innes for me was that he's played so well last season when he got a Cup start. So he's shown he can have an impact against men but hasn't backed it up again this year.

I think Bryce is next to go.

How involved has Madge been in the lower grades? Is he the kind of coach who wants to be involved top to bottom?

Are we losing these guys because they didn't get a Dev Deal and don't want to go to a Qcup team?

Have they now got Dev Deals at Canberra, etc.?

I wonder how this works across Sydney clubs... they only have 6 Dev Deals as well, but are guys that miss out happy to sit in their reserve grade team (i.e. dogs, panthers, etc.) and basically be their Train and Trial players?

Very, he's always at Cup. Ballin handles the weekly video with them with them, and Cup coaches report to Ballin but Madge is very good at the squad whole management.
Thanks for the info! so one could assume that Black and Innes leaving wasn’t a shock to anyone?

Maybe Madge what kind of juniors they want

Brent Read that PVL will personally intervene to attempt to keep Haas away from R360.

Vlandys said:

“I will speak to Payne because I have been asked to,”

“At the moment I am letting him have a break. I am letting him have some peace and quiet, but I will be talking to him.”

“I just feel very sorry for the players,” V’landys said.

“They are being hung out to dry. As custodians of the game, we have to protect the fans. The fans want us to do something.

“We will be very strong. They are jeopardising their careers in the NRL for something they know nothing about.

“I have nothing against the players. They are being used as guinea pigs. I hope they get their money up front and bank guarantees.

“Anyone can make promises. Can they deliver them? I feel sorry for Zac Lomax and Ryan Papenhuyzen (if they go to R360).

“Where is the duty of care? Who has done that for them? Where is the due diligence? I stand by what I said - it’s out of a Corn Flakes box.”

I agree with something PVL said, and now I feel dirty.

If Haas can get a 30 million dollar contract, over 10 years, all paid upfront, regardless of outcome, DO IT!

It's a massive gamble on an unknown backer, in a code that struggles within Australia, for anything; love you Melbourne Rebels, and Wallabies....

It's an incredibly audacious move from R360, an L.L.C? which is financied by who? Streaming on which channels? To which audience, at what stadium? On what nights? With which coaches?

Reminds me of the super league war, or Kerry Packer and his W.S.C. Packer did change the game.

So many ducks, and even more rows.

Who is actually fronting the 10 billion in cash as of yesterday, no strings attached, to crap shoot? I mean CASH.

Why 10 Billion in cash? Make it a 100 Billion! Why not! It is as arbitrary and audacious. This affair is just so, Peter Foster, or Alan Bond at the moment.

Innes is just a pre-season training deal at Raiders.
