Guessing that means Perham is on a Top 30... kind of thought Talty would be Top 30 as well, but good work from the R&R to get him in the dev deal when he's likely to play a fair bit of first grade.

What kind of contract is Verhoeven on?

And also Michael Waqa who moved from Dolphins... thought he might've been offered a dev deal to move or did dolphins just let his contract expire?

Waqa's deal with the Dolphins didn't expire until 2026. He signed for three years in 23.

He's on a full-time training deal at the Broncos. He hasn't been able to even crack a Cup game since end of 24 and played BRL this year.

Verhoeven is the same, just finished Year 12 so having a break but will be on full time training.
 
I'd have to presume Braithen Scott and Tupou Francis signed dev deals for '27.

Both were reportedly on dev contracts a couple of months ago.

We've also only got 5 in that list... so an open spot if they want to bump someone up... in the same way that Shiba got bumped up after last year's preseason

Francis is the same as Verhoeven, on a break post school. He will train full time when he comes back.

Te Kura did a similar deal in 22.

Wonder what the play is here? R360 seems like you can't trust it, salary cap increases can just be factored into a contract, must be some good reason to risk the lost income from not signing a multi year deal. How is career risk through injuries and the like factored into a decision like this?

I reckon it's either him banking on 360 to triple his pay, or the Broncos not wanting to factor in potential cap increases into his contract (which is smart to me).

Us getting 2 years with Hass at his current rate works for me.

Yeah seems to be a wait and see on R360, but also cap rises for the new CBA in 2028.

Happy to have him for a further 2yrs.

It does line a lot of important contracts up for around the same time.

Payne 2027
Patty 2028
Ezra and Walsh 2029
 
New players' CBA and a 19th team due in 2028. Guessing Payne's management won't want him wrapped up in a contract when there's more cash in the system.

But I can't see him moving overseas with his family situation.
