Better than Perth I think, first time since 17/18 he's scored three 100's in a year. Couldn't get better timing, batting at night at the venue of the next d/n Test against an undefeated opposition.
 
Disappointing for Weibgen to get out and expose someone at night. He was set and needed to stay there.

Completly agree. Technically he looks pretty good. Be very interesting to see what impact the BBL has on his developemtn this summer.

Yeah its such a shame about the BBL. There are some really promising kids starting to come through and their development gets thrown out the window for some hit and giggle. And of course if they do well there, then they start getting offers to go to other pointless comps around the world, see that's where the money is and throw technique out the window to perfect their ramps, lofts and reverse pirouette cartwheels.

The ones who look REALLY good are Kellaway, Peake, Weibgen and Connolly. I'm a big fan of Salzmann but more as a bowler, technically though he is a pretty good bat. Konstas, Hicks, Wyllie, Shaw, Radhakrishnan and Dixon are not without promise either but right now have serious flaws in their techniques that T20 will not help. There is also that kid that hit 300 in a grade cricket one dayer, I've never seen him play but he must have something about him.
 
Batting first is so bloody important in a day night test match... Vics bat first in the 2 day sessions and declare during the night session.

Qld do well to get through the night session, bat during the two early sessions, but lose wickets in the night session as they were taking a lead.

They're likely to be bowled out in the first session today giving the Vics a decent time to start their batting again.

Depending on how aggressive they go they could declare again in the night session with a 200+ run lead and try to take those early wickets.

I wonder if Qld considered declaring last night to bowl at the Vics under lights.

Yep in an all time innings, the likes of which has happened like literally four times in the what 130 year history of the Ashes?

Everyone can slog the ball, not everyone can back it up with a solid defense for those times where the bowling is really hard to face. The England bowling attack was like Jekyll and Hyde in their two innings in the game just gone. Same bowlers in the same bodies, totally different qualities.

You don't think I included him in those four times? That's right, David Warner did an innings like that once in his entire Ashes career...and he's an all time great.

I'm not sure you are making the point you think you are but hey, it wouldn't be the first time.

The point I`m making as backed by Greg Chappel in todays News limited media is the game has changed .
This will happen more regularly because the players think differently to 130 yrs ago and play differently .

See if you can get your head around that ....

Your point is that the game has changed? I know, hence why I call for more all rounders to be in the team - that's where the game is going - bits and pieces cricketers littering the XI.

But yeah, thank you captain obvious, for pointing out...the obvious. If you had just said that, this entire discussion could have been avoided with a 'well yeah obviously'.

This was a waste of time...again not unusual with you but I still like to give you the benefit of the doubt. I'm not giving up on you actually making a decent point and starting a decent discussion at some point, I genuinely believe we'll get you there.
 
The Gabba is a very flat pitch today. Sandhu just hit a back foot drive through cover for 4 ffs.
 
Bullshit should get the new ball under lights in this one. Very much in the box seat if they bowl well and take early wickets
