Broncos Roster, Signings and Rumours Discussion 2026

Wouldn't it be good if just once , Payne Haas re- signing was quick and stress free instead of being a drawn out saga..😏

I think after the last contract was finalised, everyone except Payne is talking the next one into being a drawn out saga because they know it’ll get clicks and draw conversation

Like you wouldn't do the same. 1m taxed vs 3m untaxed... I love my job, but if a competitor overed me what worked out to be 3 to 5 times my wage to jump ship... I'm jumping ship in a heart beat.
And if that competitor was a start-up (thus no history), and has nothing but hot air and promises to back up that offer, jumping ship would be a huge risk at best, and possibly the worst decision of your life.

It'll be a shame for his legacy and RL if he ends up leaving. Dude is only 26 - just entering his prime.

At least we'll have him for the 3 peat.

Hmm, obviously happy to have him for as long as possible at this point, but by the time 2028 rolls around, Payne is going to be worth a serious mint, especially if he gets another ring.

We need to make hay while he is here because I don't think he stays beyond '27.

I think he could potentially start to decline a bit earlier than other front rowers, the amount of work he gets through, it'll start taking a toll sooner or later. He might only have a couple more great years left after 2027 anyway...
...or I could be wrong, and he can still keep killing it until mid 30s.

Everyone said that after the last contact he signed. And the one before that.

We have 2 forwards that play so many minutes its going to catch up with both.

We need to find a ball playing lock pronto... did I hear somewhere that Kurt Mann was on the move... or was it just Salmon getting pushed out or something?

He's getting older, but he's a very solid link man in the middle that would allow us to actually give Patty a break during games.

It's that or having to do something where you just convert a failed half into a lock like the dogs have done with Hayward... my nominations for that would be Billy and Paix.

At the moment we just can't afford to have Patty off the field, because there's no one else in the squad that can do what he does at lock... especially now that Smoothy is gone.

Tell your manager then, Payne!
