FOOTBALL English Premier League 25/26 Discussion

The most frustrating thing of all of it, is this.

Even with attackers he did not necessarily ask for, good reporters suggesting Sesko for example was well down the list of his requests with Watkins apparently top. Cunha and Mbuemo especially, are both good players, and have absolutely helped improved the attack. The goal stats show it (3rd in league for goals). Which justifies the spend on the attack.

But we didn't need to purchase both Cunha and Mbuemo, based on Bruno playing basically the same position as them, and Mount as the backup. So that money absolutely should have been spent elsewhere.

So for journos already claiming he has been backed, the investment made in the attack, has shown benefit, so its obvious that further investment needs to be made elsewhere also, especially in midfield...the players currently at the club for the most part, are not good enough.

There is no way Amorim, who knows the current players dont suit his system, said lets just ignore the midfield and fullbacks, and sign only attackers, 2 of which play in my captain and best players position.

I assume the next permanent manager would be Southgate as the ties to the board are already there and the players currently at the club can play his style.

Surprise to nobody, his words against the board worked as he has been sacked. .

Start yet again.
Just hire Southgate already... he's a ****ing spud but at least it will be over in like 12 months

I think this squad will do better under Southgate than they ever would have done under Amorim.

Thats not my issue. We will NEVER win a prem again under someone like Southgate.

Regardless how far away that seemed under ETH or Amorim, its knowing nothing will ever change the second they sack again and bring in Southgate.

Ragnick was spot on with everything he ever said about the club all those years ago.

Just even giving it more thought, some of these players have now seen off not 4, not 5, but 6 managers... at what ****ing point does a manager ever get a proper go at a rebuild, that is quite clearly needed?

As I said earlier today and yesterday, Amorim is not without blame, he hasn't won enough games, but the board and higher have let him down equally as much.

Another miserable day for this club.

Probably be back here again in another 18 months too.

Once the manager has an outburst like he did, its all over.

If they have any sense, they should break the bank for Emery.

The club is a joke under the current ownership... it's the same merry-go-round with managers every 2-3yrs

They overpay players and then aren't able to move them on, so all they do is just compile deadwood and leave the next guy hamstrung with trying to deal with it... I don't know why any up and coming manager would try to take the challenge on... unless they're getting paid a ****ing fortune.

Or maybe all of them just play Fifa and think they can turn the titanic around in a season and be the one to resurrect a former dominant football club

Oh for sure. He threw in the towel with that presser and gave them no choice but to hit the eject button on him. He wanted out and got the desired outcome.

Garnacho a certified hater til the very end. Can't even be mad at it 😂

You have to wonder whats going on at the top of that club. They had one of the most competent and well respected people running the football side off the field in Dan Ashworth and he lasted 3 months. Ragnick, Ten Hag and now Amorim all had massive issues. You get the feeling the mess runs even deeper than just the Glazers.

Back to square one all over again.

We sign a manager for his 3-4-3 style, but we don't back him completely and he's working with one hand tied behind his back. Now the players are being consulted on who they want to be the next manager until the same shit happens again, they get sick of him and that manager then gets sacked.

The definition of insanity.

The manager is the only one that keeps getting sacked... the guys that pick and hire the manager are still in a job and all the players are still there because they're overpaid and can't be moved on.

The club is going nowhere and they don't stick with a manager long enough to actually clear all the shithouse contracts they have and give them a squad they've actually been able to build

They're going to sign Ole as caretaker 😂😂

Not surprised. Don't be surprised if he actually becomes the full time manager. There's been rumours for some time now that there's people in the United hierarchy that are fans of Ole and that Ole has been wanting another crack at the United job.

A lot of fans have been wanting Ole back and there's been reports that a large chunk of the players liked Ole so INEOS won't get much blow back making him full time manager.

Plus he's someone they can control, which is another tick for INEOS.

If they want to go down the route of a former player as caretaker, i'd be looking at Roy Keane. It wont happen with Sir Alex still around the club so much, but he would command so much respect from that squad and wouldnt take any crap. He's always been a standard setter and its probably what United need.

Sounds like Wilcox is too involved in first team matters imo. That will be an issue unless a puppet manager gets appointed.

That's one of the reasons why Amorim was sacked. Wilcox wanted him to change tactics but Amorim refused and shit got sour from there.
