The heartburn is unbearable 😆.
Stupid Cowgirls will get their ring leader sacked and will miss the 8 again.

You’d have to think that’s just about career done. Not many come back well from multiple knee injuries.

MCL isn't too bad, but you do have to wonder if maybe his body just isn't upto it.

Either that or he's bulked too quickly and the stabilizing muscles haven't caught up.

isnt the mcl more likely to go after a acl anyway?
it's generally more soft tissue injuries due to the increase in load after a sedentary period, but same as above, if some of the smaller muscles have been neglected than general knee stability will always be at risk.

Anyone see that "rivals" show about nrl vs afl vs union that Walsh is in. Making out like its the 1st one lol...

Afl media completely swept it under the rug the last one. Australias greatest athlete. Slater DOMINATED the afl and every other sports 2 years in a row, then he didnt do the 3rd year (think they put in a poor nrl candidate 3rd year on purpose) followed by a union fb in the 3rd year before they scraped it and never talked about it again.

Same with the nrl vs afl boxing matches. Nrl absolutely pummelled them tk no ones surprise except southeners Haha

Afl people live off this bs that they are "fitter" lol.... at running around in circles maybe. Strength and power, as wepl as maintaining it over pong periods, they get dominated because they have embarrassing strength compared to nrl players.

NO DOUBT this will get talked about for centuries if the afl somehow shock everyone, but wont be talked about if nrl win it lol. Wonder what the contests will be... running, then more running if its on channel 7.

Didn't Kurt Gidley come in after Billy stopped doing it and was winning as well?

I'm a bit lost now when it comes to players, I haven't done Supercoach or any kind of Fantasy game for the last 3 or so years, and it's amazing how much those things kept you aware of the new players hitting the scene. Or even just players in & out with injuries, in & out of the top grade etc. So there are probably a lot of players with big question marks over them, but what I am really going to be interested in will be how Sam Walker goes this year.

He was snapped up by the Roosters with such a fuss that you'd think he was going to his the scene booming. Especially when you consider that he was signed by the Roosters, a team that's not really knows for its patience with big-name recruits. Walker was young and hadn't played a game when he signed, so there was always going to be a couple of years before he'd be comfortable in first grade, but he debuted in 2021, this will be his 6th season. The Roosters have had some really good patches in that time, but nowhere near what they enjoyed in the 2010s, and you have to wonder how long they will keep at it with him.

A bunch of things have gone against him. Injuries, especially last year, have hampered him. Having Keary as his mentor was a good move experience-wise, but in the end Keary was just too old and broken himself to be able to ease him through. But in terms of development, there are still major deficiencies in his defence that hasn't been improved, to the point that you wonder if they ever will. And will DCE be able to unlock him, or has he already clocked out and easing in to retirement?

He is still only 23, which is young for a half, but the Roosters are the sort of club to wait until around this age to sign someone to a position as important as the halves, and only after they have shown that they are going to be a genuine gun. They don't sign players to such an important position that take 5 or 6 years to even prove that they are capable.

Long story short, I have a feeling if Walker doesn't play 15-20+ games this year and push the Roosters to a top-6 spot he'll be looking for another club.

I think size is definitely an ongoing issue for Walker... like you say this is his 6th season, but he still looks like a kid.

That body would've been copping it already from tackling 115kg backrowers running crash lines at him.

In terms of his playstyle and also rorters... I think they stumbled onto something at the backend of the year, which is what most pundits would be pointing to as the reason for expecting a high finish this year.

Sam may have been wearing the 7 jersey all last year, but when he was playing with Savala he was on the left and was not the primary kicker for rorters.

He was effectively playing 6.

I noticed DCE is saying that he won't be wearing the 7 for rorters this year... but sure as shit he'll be playing on the right and doing the majority of the kicking.

I think one of the issues that Walker had when partnered with Keary is that Robinson wouldn't make the call that Keary is the 7 when it comes to kicking, etc. OR Walker and Keary were too similar and neither were good enough as a 7 to do that role well enough... as a pair they definitely lacked in long kicking.

That is potentially the thing that will hold Walker back... he's progressing more as a 6, but as a 6 he wants all the ball.

It's not easy finding 7's that are great at being game managing halfbacks, but also happy to take a backseat.

Reynolds is one of those that is happy to take a backseat OR step up and take over a game... but Reyno doesn't grow on trees!!

There is a huge risk that DCE and Walker don't click straight away... DCE is used to getting the ball whenever he wants it, he'll be required to do all the kicking and everything as a game manager, but inside the 20m it's meant to go to Sam... can DCE take a backseat like that.

I see PVL is back-pedalling on the "Lomax 10 year ban" thing. TBH I never really rated Lomax, good player but not in the bracket he's been put into alongside the likes of Haas and Munster. He took the leap into the whole R360 mess in full knowledge of the consequences, now he's doing more backflips than Simone Biles and causing heaps of pre-season friction in the whole Eels v Storm stoush .. is he worth it ? ... I dunno.
