OFFICIAL Payne Haas to depart Broncos at the end of 2026

Bellamy is notorious, possibly even moreso than Madge, for absolutely flogging his squad to the breaking point in preseasons, but they never bring that up as a negative. Why do blokes like Bellamy and Cleary get to train their squads that way but Madge is the villain for doing the same thing? You've got to train hard to win in professional sport, which is probably why old man Wayne hasn't won anything in nearly two decades.

If Bellamy had been run out of Melbourne with everyone hating him gone to another club and done a doco where he just yelled and ranted at everyone from the ball boy to the cheergirls and been run out of town again with everyone hating him then I imagine you would be reading the same things about Bellamy on his third club.

Kick Broncos out of the comp!!!

Wait a second...given how much you defend Melbourne...are you actually Read?

I always get the feeling, they can't talk analytics, they can't talk history, so they have nothing except my loud opinion- which is fine that's most fans except they're not at the pub they're on tv.
The other thing they can’t do is simply admit “I don’t know enough about this issue to comment on it” .. NRL360 is underpinned by the need to take a position and have an opinion on everything .. being provocative is more important than being accurate for shows like this, Triple M etc

I wonder if having Reynolds and Hunt stick around in some kind of assistant roles post-retirement will mitigate some of the risks of Madge becoming overbearing. Between them and Teo, you have a heap of experience to tell Madge when to ease up in certain areas

Assuming Reyno will be that guy, depending on what he does post-retirement.

On the other hand you don’t want Madge being undermined, intentional or not, if players can’t feel they can talk to him and go through the assistants.

It’s a delicate balance sometimes

I think it was either Reyno, Bhunt or Teo that went to Madge after that Manly game... so they went straight to coach, which is a good sign that they wouldn't undermine
