They might even withstand the 15 minutes of constant pressure, but in the end it’ll be telling and the game will blow out.

If we **** around with Mam off the bench again I will be very annoyed. It makes no sense. Hunt off the bench at 9 will be very impactful in the second half of games.

I can see the theory behind Mam off the bench, but we simply made far too many errors to fatigue the Panthers, and because of that it negated the benefits Mam off the bench would have given us

It worked last year because he was coming off the injury. We don't need to do that now. Mam has had a full pre season and should be good for 80 minutes.

Ezra was one of the form 5/8’s of the comp before his injury.

Hard for me to bag the Mam tactic because it was exactly what I suggested a couple weeks ago.

Obviously it didn’t work but no X factor strategy could work in a game like that.

I think in the 6 bench era, having a true X factor on the bench that you can ignore if the game doesn’t require it is a massive strategic advantage. The issue is, it needs to be someone like a Tristan Slater or a debut season Milf/Barba, and not a guy like Mam who’s now in his 5th season.

I’m a massive fan of having something exceptional on the bench. There’s nothing more disheartening to be losing the arm wrestle all game, absolutely no more gears to go up, and then looking to your bench and it’s 4 plodders who are just there to do a job.

You need something in the back pocket that gives you some semblance of hope that the game could get turned on its head.

It would have worked a lot better if we held the ball and got into a bit of a grind. Fresh Mam comes on at 6 and runs.

Unfortunately by the time he got on we'd already lost control, weren't holding the ball and were well and truly on the backfoot in most areas so it just didn't work.
