NRL 2026 Round 1 Discussion

So we again received the least penalties and conceded the equal most.

Gosh darn we need to work on our discipline hey.

But I've been assured the big clubs get bias from the refs... also #PenaltyBroncos amirite
"It's not how many the Broncos get, it's when they get them" - said unironically by the Cowboys supporter at work.

Well Madge might want to have a quiet word with Aublix .
Mate you cant move in defence till the ball has cleared the ruck .
That was under 8s stuff .

It would be good if the referees could decide what that actually means though.

Sometimes you can move as soon as the ball touches the ground, sometimes you have to wait until the dummy half passes it, depending on which team you play for and/or the referees mood.

What I`m talking about wasn`t about nuance .
The ball carrier hadn`t even begun to play the ball and Aublix was already shooting out of the line . Dumb shit .

I saw him appeal to the ref when he got pinged, pointing to something in the ruck. Maybe he thought the Panthers player bauked the PTB (where they appear like they are going to play it, then hesitate, to try to get the defence to leave early or to claim interference). I didn't see that happen myself, but if the Panthers did do that, the ref normally warns them they can't do it, and that the defence is able to leave when they start that action, even if they don't actually play it.

Tawha hasn't been impressive at all has he.

No, but we didn't really have enough ball against Penrith to do anything. A nice aggressive charge while we were under the pump would have been great, even if he got smashed. Even Mam did a couple of really good scoots in the middle to get us on the front foot (before someone inevitably dropped it). But Tawha might come to the fore when we have some ascendency, more of an impact player.

Yeah all good points and I think it will give him a reprieve but at the moment, Talty is completely outshining him and it isn't even close.
