I think people are being a bit harsh on tawha simply because of the hype that absolute idiot "guru" gave.
Dont get me wrong, hes been bad, but he isnt fletcher baker level lol. He has a dig. Just looks lost and has trouble keeping up with the intensity of the team. Always thought he'd be a 2-3 injury replacement level depth player. You dont come from getting into the dolphins/serial finals-missers pack because of an injury crisis to being a 1st choice in the premiership winning pack. Theres some dolphins-habits he needs to clean up, madge needs to decide whether he will get there with 15 mins at nrl level a week or have a stint in qld cup and play 50 mins and work on it without the pressure (i think qld cup option).
Also, blowing the mam/break try opportunity. Let's not forget he also created the opportunity by pushing up at speed and following the play.
The problem for us is we dont have many/any options after him. Jaiyden hunt is solid but hardly inspiring, ben te kura sounds like he's coming back from injury, semu is a debutant, tupou francis is way too young (but looked the best of the lot in the trials), and beni Allen sounds too early as well. I think this conversation is very different next year with francis and Allen coming through, plus would love to get lahrs and a 2nd row option.
