Not dismissing Reynolds as a player or even insinuating that he seems to be past it but we didn't pick up pace last season until Reynolds got injured. He played in the GF but we won it with him off the field.

Now if you were to connect Walsh or even Kevvie Walter's son at 6 to our success I'd be less likely to nitpick.
 
I think arey being named at 7 is to take the pressure off of duffy, nothing more tbh.

The entire lead up would be about duffy coming up against his old team if he was named at 7, now its about will reynolds play. Very clever tactic tbh. Behind closed doors im sure madge is telling duffy, this is your jersey this weekend, this is your old team, you have everything to play for....

This is the way.
 
I think it says more about Verhoeven than Reynolds.

I see it as Madge's way of telling Verhoeven to focus on his development. Take the lessons that you learned on debut and apply that in QCup. Meanwhile we'll give Reynolds every opportunity even if he's a long shot of playing. Otherwise if it's not Reynolds and it's not Verhoeven who else is there? Te Kura? Bukowski? They're not in the frame.

I also think it simplifies Duffy's role. Instead of the team trying to accomodate his playstyle, he simply has to come in, kick for corners and play that link role on shifts. It'll be a good barometer for where he's at in terms of playing at an NRL standard.

I've said a billion times I thought our best halves combination last year was Billy and Hunt. I was pleasantly surprised.
 
I only just noticed this Broncos LEGEND is lining up against us for yet another club.
