2026 NRL Player Movements & Rumours

Joey reckons Cleary won't leave the NRL until he has "dominated Origin".

News flash Joey, the NSWRL tried to do everything for him in Origin, absolutely slaughtering us with 6-agains and dodgy rulings, and he was STILL outshone by one Timmy Dingding. **** off, Chin, you'll never be an immortal.
As if the the NSWRL won't pull an Andrew Johns and make him an immortal 0.1 seconds after he retires.

Dominating origin means doing it year after year, not winning one series playing well. They will say he has finally dominated Origin, but unless he keeps turning up and doing it, i dont see how it can be seen that way.

Joey only did it once and that was enough for them.

The Dragons have reportedly made a 3 year, $3 million offer to Scott Drinkwater
Bongwater offered $1m and rejected it omg haha

I guess he just wants a 4th year and he just has to take that

Selwyn Cobbo has re-signed with the Phins for a further 12 months

Badel said that Cobbo attracted interest from three NRL suitors, but doesn't say which clubs they were.

Dolphins CEO, Terry Reader, said:

“Selwyn is enjoying being coached by Kristian,”

“We have a lot of outside backs coming off-contract but we are very happy with Selwyn.

“The coaching staff are pleased with Selwyn and the environment of our club has suited him.

“Hopefully we will get some really good football out of him this year and into the future.”

Cobbo's agent, Tas Bartlett said:

“He loves the relaxed environment of the Dolphins, he can’t be happier,”

“It’s a different type of pressure to the Broncos, but a lot of his happiness has to do with ‘Woolfy’.

“I actually met with them at the start of last year. Selwyn was a free agent, so I had a preliminary meeting with the Dolphins to explore some options.

“We met before a ball had been kicked because it looked very clear that the Broncos were going to struggle to afford Selwyn under the salary cap.

“It had nothing to do really with Selwyn being upset over being in reserve grade.

“The Broncos had simply put their salary cap into other blokes and they weren’t going to be able to renew him on the money he was on.

“Woolfy can take a lot of credit for Selwyn’s form … the way Selwyn puts it, he says, ‘He gets me’.”

Where is this form that they're talking about?

I feel like this season is maybe the worst I've seen him play... he's dropping so many high balls and making errors on yardage carries... just coach killer errors at the moment.

If I was Woolf I wouldn’t want any credit for whatever you call this form that he is in.

Just like the tea leaves always say, anyone who leaves Melbourne turns to shit, no exceptions, and anyone who escapes Madge must improve. Stop getting caught up in things like form. He left Madge, he is instantly better.

We all know what Cobbo can do.
But he's not doing it atm, and 4.5 seasons in first grade and he's still 4th most errors in the comp. He's still got a decent hit up, but it just seems a lower intensity then it has been.I still think he's best in the centres and would love to see him play to his potential consistently.
I think he could be a weapon in Origin, but I wouldn't be picking him this year.
Of course he can play like a plodder when he plays us.

His heart isn't in it at the Phins, it's comfortably footy. His heart is still with the Broncos, he will never play as well elsewhere as he would for us.

Not that I want him back, as much as I love the kid, he doesn't have the right mindset for where our club is finally back at. Which is fine, plenty of other clubs would take him. I do wish him well.
