POST GAME [Round 6, 2026] - Broncos vs Cowboys

Some good performances from our guys especially the fill ins. Jesse was good Duffy was good and Mozers passing was really nice until he got injured.
The Shiba call was just a disgrace . Whoever was in the bunker should get life. Zero idea on the game and a decision from someone looking to take that try away.
Anyone who knows about football could see that was dropped cold instead of a try the Cows get rewarded for a mistake.
Once again disappointed in Staggs particularly his second half.
We needed him to get in and work hard When the game didn't come his way he clocked off.
We couldn't get Klown to give us anything even when blatant.
Not sure how it came up on tellie but the Cows left early so often yet not 1 inside 10 penalty. Griffin Neame was taking the piss he was so far in front yet the touchies clearly didn't tip Klown at all.

Lost this game because of ridiculous ref calls. Duffy was really bloody good deserved to get the win. I think Arthur's defensive positioning killed us on a few of those tries as well, Walsh is really underrated in how well he cleans up defensively

Madge clearly pissed at the presser after the game lol. I love how he handled that, just hard balled it all away despite clearly fuming.

Look out Tigpies!

I cannot understand the confusion about the Drinkwater penalty. It’s not about him pulling out or turning his back. It’s that he touches Karapani before he has a chance to catch the ball. It’s not even close to a controversial call. Even if he goes up and looks at it the whole time, he still impacts the player trying to catch it which is a penalty.
That correct call on the Drink penalty definitely had an impact on the Piakura "no try". The refs are there to officiate, the state of the game and what's happened previously shouldn't come into the equation in their minds.

IMO the video ref was scared that he'd get savaged for "ruining" the game by being "inconsistent" on disruptor penalties.

You just feel like Mozer might need a fresh start. I hope he stays on but gee he's had some bad luck.

The guy in the bunker probably earned a promotion for that decision

But the bunker ruled he was a disruptor 2m out, before he looks up. So by that definition, you can't raise your hands or you're technically trying to disrupt unless you ball watch and jump for it. What sport are we watching again?
Yeh it's getting an absolute joke at this point I'm sick of these stupid rules that are getting thought way too heavily about. Just needs to be common sense ref calls it's not that difficult

Broncos lost... all the neutrals will be going with the "I thought that game was well officiated", "cows vs broncos is always a close contest... great game" "cows did well to overcome the forward passes", etc.

Adam Gee was the greatest ref of all time after the 2023 GF for not calling any penalties... now the same neutrals call him a ****ing moron.

Neutrals aren't really neutral
Yeah we're hated by every fanbase so it's hard to get an impartial opinion. If we won they'd be blaming the video ref for the Drinky penalty and the Klein for the Duffy pass that the fox comms were blowing up about for 10 minutes.

I hate the Sea Eagles with a passion and, despite winning, I thought they got bent over big time by the ref in the first half to keep the Dragons from copping a 60+ point hiding at home. Penref copped a ref special last night as well.

This one still really stings. It kind of felt like a gut punch more than just a loss because we worked so hard to they win down so many players and we got it…only for it to be taken away by a ludicrous decision (well several). To lose a try and reward a player for dropping it cold with a penalty and then compound it with a six again to lead into a try the other way, it really hurts.

I can live with wrong calls on field, even when you are constantly getting shafted like we are but when the video ref constantly and repeatedly just makes stuff up to keep the contest close, why bother?

Because of all the injuries, this feels like a massive two points to lose because I don’t expect us to win many over the next few weeks with more injuries out of this game and then the players we get back we lose to origin to compound the problem

It just feels way bigger than losing two points right now and it will come back to bite at the pointy end of the season.

The refs are there to manage the game ... if they actually officiate it they get sacked... if broncos get to keep that try we're up by 12 with time running out... can't be having that in a qld derby!!!

I think the problem is that most of us agree with the principle of the disruptor rule, which is against a player running through, waving their hands in front of the player before they catch it.

The rule simply cannot also apply to a player a meter away from the defender.

What they are essentially saying is you cannot put any pressure on the man catching a bomb now. Running towards a player without your eyes on the ball is a disruption.

Ludicrous.
I don’t even agree with that, if you can’t catch a ball with someone waving their hands then you deserve to lose it. Might as well just bring in the fair catch rule like in the NFL, this is ****ing ridiculous.

****. Nrl are match fixing aren't they

It’s close, I think image 1 shows Chester’s head above Carrigan’s shoulder. Image 2 shows carrigan’s shoulder in Chester’s throat and Chester’s chin on top of The shoulder. This is the snap forward. If the contact had been direct and forceful in the throat/chin area, Chester would have been in big trouble.

This may still constitute the definition of high contact, but it wasn’t direct. Pat needs to hit lower for sure; but there is no ****ing way that’s a Grade 2.

Yep just heart breaking to lose when it is entirely on the ref. The Cows shouldn't have even been in a position to win it. Their heads had dropped and we were about to run away with it. Instead, salt gets rubbed into the wound by ANOTHER phantom six again and suddenly the Cows are over while we're still thinking about what the heck just happened.

The NRL would be handling out an unreserved apology if they were a legitimate professional organisation. Instead Annersley will come up with something everyone laughs at to say why it was ok.

Imagine if this was the grand final - because the way this sport has gone - this will happen in a grand final where a team will lose the entire season due to a sudden rule change in the middle of the game.
It’s sickening. The whole game the commentators on nine were non stop hyping this game as the best game they’ve ever seen. Because it was yet another “nail biter” between these two team, none of the officiating woes will even get a mention.

Penrith have been using their defensive system for 6 years yet we can't get remotely close to replicating it.
Is it so complicated we can't copy it?
You're just not going to attack your way to a win all the time.
To actually win a GF doing it is huge but we just have to get better at contact and numbers in tackles.

Honestly, if the whistle isn’t put away, we aren’t allowed.

Watch the second half of the semi vs panthers “if you haven’t a million times” we dominate when the game is pure.

When I look at our team, it looks like a real rugby team from years gone by. If they let us play we win.

But they don’t, the 10m line “15” in their eyes, the 6 agains vs our ruck speed…it couldn’t be more obvious.

I’m inclined to have a stop watch in the next game fully streamed so no bias.
