Bukowski is a development player and can't play unless promoted to the 30 or special consideration is applied for and given. - If they were going to apply, he wouldn't be flying to Townsville today.

If Paix, Bunt, Walters and Mozer being unavailable doesn’t allow for special dispensation what does? This is irrespective of whether Bukowski plays or not.
Broncos haven't filled their top 30, they will tell you to fill that first before asking for extra players.

Maguire himself basically said Bukowski is a strong chance for next week. And lets not pretend like the NRL knows it’s own rules, exhibit A being last night’s game.

Cowboys fans acting like they won the gf hahahaha obviously been a looooong time between drinks for them . Hope they enjoyed mocking the broncos fans, will have ti rely on a huge injury toll pre and during game to our spine players and a manufactured no try rule to beat us the next 10 years.

They changed the rule that Dev players can play whenever they want and it's only T&T guys that need an exemption... and that's only if it's before Rd 11

This situation shows exactly why it was a good call from the Broncos to re-sign Paix. You can see just how easily you can lose a couple of hookers and suddenly you're stretched very thin in the position.
Sorry I apologize, you're right Dev players are anytime now- was round one last year and I thought they changed it to apply.

He’ll have to, even if Paix plays. Even if he doesn’t get on the field, he’ll have to be in the 19.

Even with all the outs that team is not too bad... the way the team is playing I now have confidence in our depth when they're called up.
In terms of selections, it seems like they'll apply for an exemption on Paix, so Buk to the bench and Rogers can push back.
I think it would be Semu over BTK, as he had already been named in teamlists this year and BTK has been MIA from Qcup teamlists so is probably injured or returning from injury or something like that. Jaiyden Hunt would likely make the bench as well given he's been there most of the year.
I think your starting middles are correct, but can see Jensen named at 13 and Willison at 8... he's played as a high minute workhorse in the past. I'd anticipate Payne plays near 80mins (if he's fit), that's what we did last year vs penrith when Patty was out. If not then maybe it is Willison that plays near 80mins like the dogs game last year.
Not replacing Smoothy looks costly whenever Patty isn't playing, because we just have no other locks across the squad. Is there a sneaky Tupou Francis debut incoming
Or can Teague get a call up for lock to keep the middle rotation? (may not be able to get the exemption unless they sell it as hooker cover)
I think Shiba has to be dropped even with all the outs, but is Perham an option of Verhoeven?
Nio can be on the extended bench in Perham's place... I think Jesse is holding his own at fullback, but can also play centre and wing, if they wanted to put Mariner into left centre and Jesse to right wing as a longer term look until Walsh is back.

Yeah I was annoyed last couple years about the amount of hookers we had on the books, but you need at least 3, but probably 4 across the Top 30/Dev List/T&T.
With Paix you have someone that can get through 80 if needed, so that can put a question mark on needing the 4th.
For 2027 the hookers on the books are
1. Paix (to 2028)... is the epitome of no frills... basically Macca lite... but can get through 80 and Madge has trust in him
2. Mozer (to 2027)... next inline and has the opportunity to take Paix's jumper if he wants it
3. Buk (to 2027??)... young guy coming through, but is playing Qcup so you'd expect he'll be capable of playing NRL games next year (maybe not a full season though)
We probably still need a 4th based on the above... maybe someone like Teague gets a promotion to Dev player because he could be the Smoothy type replacement... or maybe there is a young guy coming through that becomes the new 'Buk' as a "break glass in case of emergency" rookie.
Maybe Bhunt goes around again, but Pezet coming in means he's not necessarily getting all those games from Reynolds niggles and is more of a utility/hooker cover for the year.
