POST GAME [Round 6, 2026] - Broncos vs Cowboys

Klein was pathetic tonight but two things had me ready to jump the fence.
I was listening to him with Sportears - firstly, he was into Duffy every kick about hurrying up with his goal kick. He’s setting up and trying to concentrate and Kleins yelling at him, “Hurry up, that’s nearly a minute twenty” “We need to be quicker” etc. I’ve never heard a ref into a kicker that bad before.
The worst though was when the bunker was checking the Broncos no try. I had a gut feeling they were going to let it go but Klein says, “Don’t forget, you took one off them.”
The bloke is a moron.
At what point in the process was that I wonder.
The bunker was saying all along that Shiba had eyes for Tom when he was clearly looking at the ball.
I think he actually pulled away from contact to avoid a penalty and still got pumped for it.

I said it against the Dolphins that there was worrying defence signs and the last three weeks have been awful. They are finding different ways to be awful too.

Dolphins was 50 missed tackles; Titans was them just breaking tackles and now Cowboys sets were over 10m more each set.

Pre contact, Cowboys going a metre before they got to a Bronco. That's 221m in a game.

Cowboys 7.5m
Broncos 6.6m

Cowboys 59m for a set is huge. Penrith haven't got anywhere near that this year, and I can't find anyone else with that much in a set.

I thought Duffy was good- passing and kicking was his weapon and he largely stuck to it. Staggs first try off a Duffy kick- although not the right kick!

One thing I did notice was he went over the left to kick and then Drinkwater went straight to his spot for the Cowboys first try. He came across in cover but wasn't fast enough to get Purdue. It's great to kick from either side but someone needs to know and be smart enough to cover for him.

Cows making metres for fun and us being poor in defense - I mean if you have a million players out and get called to being too slow in the very first set and repeatedly thereafter while your opponent can do whatever they want - it isn’t surprising that your defense is gassed. Couple that with the known issue of Shibasaki and Mam being forced to be together due to so many injuries, it isn’t surprising.

That HIA situation sounds amateurish.

How does every single team we play become so well disciplined and have near perfect completions? The cowboys tonight had unbelievable play the ball speed. It would be very difficult to defend repeatedly
My thoughts exactly. Almost the second we stopped progress of a cowboys player Klown would call held and you could hear him calling players out by name to get off the tackle but when we had the ball there seemed an eternity between being tackled and the held call giving us really slow play the ball speed. As for line speed, every Broncos player knows the second we leave a millisecond early it's a 6 again or penalty.

Contrast that with more than a few times last night the Bronco receiving the ball from dummy half could barely make the advantage line before hitting a wall of Cows defenders. Klown was reffing one way for the Cows and a totally different way for us.

Some of you may think I'm being paranoid but I've been playing and watching footy since the 70's and I know a stitch up when I see one. I saw one last night from Klown and that disruptor call for the no try was just plain wrong. Shiba hadn't even left the ground as the Cows player had already dropped the ball cold before he even got there.

I wonder why we had to give headgear Riki a break towards the last 8-10 minutes? Had he been there, I reckon Luki wouldn’t have got the opportunity to score their last try. There was no sliding defense, line speed, intensity or wrapping the footy at all throughout the game. Cowgirls were allowed free meters all night.
Did he end up injured too? It was odd he was taken off.

If Klown really said that to the bunker surely that's grounds for him being dropped or even suspended.

The Broncos forwards were intact, and the Cowboys made ground through there.

JT and Mikaele made over 200m each. Mikaele played 50 minutes from the bench.

Luke went straight through the middle too.

There was no reason for the Broncos forwards to be that loose.

@1910 are we looking at getting a defensive coach or we just going with what we got ?

For the first time in my life with genuine frustration i felt the officiating was playing a balancing game. I always hold off against commenting on referees/bunker as its always subjective just by human nature.

The flow of the game, some of the 6 again calls compared against incidents that were ignored - really just seemed off to me. The "bunker" had even breached the NRL rules of the game in that incident, yet there was no structure internally to pick that up and correct it in the moment to halt the ruling.

The way they ruled that incident now sets a precedent that any player attempting to compete for the ball, and not successfully get hands on it - can now potentially be called a disruptor. They have opened pandoras box.

I think Broncos were the better team considering. Even though its a loss, it was still a win. Cowboys and anyone that knows footy know it, there's great progress and resilience in this team considering to how the season started,.

JT and Mikaele were immense, they both had great games for sure.......on the back of fast PTB.

The bloke is a moron.
So the moron doesnt realise he can be heard by anyone willing to listen and broadcasts match fixing to them.

Imagine how often that happens and the media just ignore it all because it would basically collapse the game

Unpopular opinion but Mikaele is one of the best impact middles in the game right now. His form over the past month has been unreal.

We were only able to use 2 forwards due to HIA luck and it showed up in the final 15.

Regardless of the result, contributed to by a disgusting disruptor call, the boys could have and should have still iced that one. The most dissapointing try for mine was Purdues. We looked to have gained control with being a man down and a 90m kick return try is unnacceptable.

Takeaway on our D is that we look more comfortable on our own line and turned Cows away multiple times.

31-30 after Duffy's FG... next set Drinky at first reciever on last tackle, why did our marker not sprint out? Even if we thought he wasn't going for a FG attempt, last tackle kick pressure is a non negotiable.

Shows just how much cumulative fatigue we had. If there was another 5 min Cows probably score again.

Onto Tigers. Looks like we are going to get a Paix HIA downgrade... never thought I would be so relieved that he'd play 🤣
