State of Origin Changes Forever

Thats when you go play for another country because your mums 4th cousins brother is from there and you want to repay the family heritage. Just make sure they are tier 2 so you can still play for Aus if needed.
Well why not... if they only play in world cups...
But then I suppose if you play u13 in both NSW and QLD.. you should be able to switch to whoever wants to select you.

What if you played a different sport before 13....?
That's probably fine to be honest... I know the international one is basically if you lived in the state before your 13th bday.

But I'm not sure there's much definition around that... people dont typically just keep proof of where their kid was living when they were 12... just in case they need to justify playing origin 10 years later

But if they were registered and playing in a qld or nsw based competition then that would provide pretty decent evidence

  • Birthplace: Were you born in
    New South Wales
    or Queensland?
  • Residency: Did you reside in NSW or QLD prior to your 13th birthday?
  • Family: Did your father play State of Origin for NSW or QLD?
Secondary Considerations (If needed):
  • In which State did you play the majority of rugby league from U/6 to U/18?
  • In which Australian State did you spend the majority of your schooling (K-12)?
  • In which state did you first participate in a Junior Representative competition?

Taumalolo has been playing great footy, but he'd dog it in Origin.

Thats a bit harsh Pete........ have you a beef with Taumalolo?

I know you're big Pete.......but he's big Jason
tread carefully would be my advice

besides

it wouldn't be the first time a player generally out of sorts
didn't come on in an origin game and put in the game of their life for 15 mins.

Here is what Ben Ikin said regarding calls from Mark Geyer and Greg Alexander to allow Moses Leota to play Origin despite not arriving in Australia until after his 13th birthday, making him ineligible. The comparrison being used in the media is Ronaldo Mulitalo, who NSW prevented playing origin because he didn't get to QLD until after his 13th birthday, but before he turned 14.

Ben Ikin said:

“I’m struggling to have any empathy for NSWRL or Moses Leota here,”

“Moses simply does not qualify to play State of Origin. The rules are the rules. We need to accept that some players might miss out by a week or a month, which might as well be three years.

“Making small exceptions on the run would be farcical. The first exemption would 13 years and four months, then it would be 13 years and seven months, and so on.

“I understand rugby league is built on drama, but we don’t need this kind of drama.”
