Ongoing theme of Broncos not controlling territory.

It is wild that our defensive coach exited, but defence is our stregnth.

Is it possible that we can control a game? All this come back stuff isn't good for my heart!
Hard to control territory and the game when you get sodomised by the ref every week.

Literally every week. We are yet to win a penalty count this year and are regularly getting pinged for multiple six agains in the first three minutes.

Almost like the refs gave a tip sheet hey - keep those Broncs from establishing play the speed from the first whistle

Did we only win like 1 penalty count all of last year as well?

Well , quit holding onto the ball when the tackle is complete , roll away out of the ruck ,no flopping on after the tackle is complete , and don`t leave the line before tha ball is played .
All controllable .
When Penrith give away 6 agains they are called tactical geniuses . LOL .

There was a blatant flop by the Tigpies lastnight that went unpunished yet it was far worse than ours last week. I'd also encourage you to rewatch the opening minutes of the game lastnight and take note of how much they were slowing the ruck in our first 2 sets with no repercussions as we were the only ones being pinged.

I'll keep saying it. My main issue is not so much the ones that are given (though there are a few head scratchers, most are deserved) - it's the ones NOT being called the other way which really get my goat. They lived offside lastnight yet WE were the ones who were constantly called for offside. IIRC they didn't give away a single offside all night. It's simply laughable.

Incompetent at best, corrupt at worst. Choose your poison.

I think some times its a matter of aggression .
The opposition is running harder and more effective in the tackle .Borderline infringements are over looked Then the Broncos try to slow things down and it`s pretty fcking obvious . 6 more !

A cpl problems for me . #1 6 agains for inside the 10 . But the camera is only showing a few metres either side of the ball . The Edges get penalised out of the frame of the shot . So it seems the ref is giving away radom 6 agains.
#2 A lot of the time the rules change as the game goes on . What was a penalty early is let go later in the match .
#2 probably lines up with what you are saying re penalties (6 agains ) not given . Broncos hit early then it seems the rules change ?

Watching the endless 6 agains last night I started to think of funny tactics to counter an opponent that is rolling through the middle and a 6 again is basically guaranteed. Maybe it's better for the entire team to retreat to the goal line? Tackle one could just be the longest hold down possible while the rest of the team jogs back to the goal line and waits. We end up there anyway, may as well cut out the 10 tackles and defensive line sprints that we usually have to do before we get there ๐Ÿ˜„

If you are giving away three infringements to zero in the first set your opposition has despite them having faster play the ball speed than you, what exactly can you do in this case?

I keep having this cooked thought which I know makes no sense, but sometimes teams get camped defending their own line for like 20+ back to back tackles.

Is there ever a situation where it is tactically beneficial to just let in a try

At times it definitely is beneficial, especially if it saves the team doing 20+ tackles but also your opponent may drop the ball next play. So yeah maybe a bit cooked ๐Ÿ˜„

I thought the same the other night but by constantly holding the other team out, it seems to break their spirit.

Maybe we are the real tactical genuises of the 6 again? We gave the most away last season and won the comp. Maguire and the club don't seem to have an issue with what's going on...
Getting annihilated by six agains and badly losing the possession stats every week would certainly be a choice

I have thought this before but it could be called spot fixing I guess. There is probably something in their contracts saying they canโ€™t or something. The punters would go wild.
