POST GAME [Round 8, 2026] - Broncos vs Bulldogs

Also I’m deporting Burton. That one winged suplex/tombstone was ridiculous.

I’m thinking Azerbaijan

Some very grubby shit from the Dogs tonight when the frustration boiled over. Hayes looked as red as a tomato when he was going off swearing and carrying on. Not sure why. Both he and Burton should get weeks. Critter will dodge it cause he's one of the former Penrith darlings.

Lots of positives. Great to Semu debut well. Perham safer than a bank vault. Willison showing once again how good he is with big minutes.

Jetski is still rubbish. Didn't dent the line, fell off tackles in defense.
Rogers isn't a hooker.
I was very impressed with jetski in the middle actually. He isnt there to bend the line but he had some footwork at the line and took some tough carries. But it was defence i was most impressed with... he got through SHITLOADS of clean up work. Dogs couldn't get in behind the marker when he was there.

Jaiden hunt was our worst I thought, but even he wasnt bad. Just had a couple lapses, which he does.

Preston riki and semu were bloody unreal. They jumped the queue for sure tonight (hope p riki can play next week!)

Massive ****ing performance. You can tell where this club is when fringe players slot into the system and do not miss a beat. We have never ****ing defended better.
This is where i think there has been a significant change. In past years, the broncos relied on individual brilliance to win games.

Now there seems to be systems where players are able to step into those roles, and do a job to contribute a team effort.

Don't really see how critter didn't get sin binned. His trip was just as bad as Hayes'.

So proud of the team, the adversity we have faced for most of the year and to come out on top consistently when given the chance is remarkable. The resolve this team has is seriously the best I have seen for many many years, probable since Locky's days.

On a side note, as others have said, seriously how great is it to watch a game not hammed with thousands of 6 agains. Game flowed well, was exciting and genuinely enjoyable too watch. Thought the Ref had a great game too.

Staggs was coming to that age where he needed to step up that extra gear. Not saying he wasn't a real good player but I always felt he has had more potential and this season I feel he has done so especially defensively where he lifts the team and provides game changing tackles.
100%

I think the big thing is that he's stopped with that stupid jamming in on the five eight.

He's realised that he can give space to his opposing centre and run them down. Mariner has trust in Staggs to do that as well and stays on his man... because Mariner can rundown his man anyway

From there he's also upped his workload, so his game has evolved beyond just being the 'ferrari' that he was termed with at the start of his career.
