NRL 2026 Round 8 Discussion

Regarding Saab’s header, I was certain that was against the rules. I have a vague memory of JT having a try taken away for doing it.

Oh dear that was awful from the Eels' centre, Garrick just walked through the front door there

Wow, Fogarty 55m to score with half a dozen Eels' chasers 😂 How did they let him do that??

Half of the teams scored over 30 points. 4 teams - 1/4 of the comp - scored above 40.

This current NRL regime really don't understand the game, do they.

they've made it all about attack, not realising that there is this whole other side that has made this game what it was before they got their grubby incompetent hands on it.

some of the best games i've ever seen have been low scoring affairs build on dominant defensive performances, by both sides. it will be rare to see these types of games under Vlandy's ball

The Penrith prelim was one of the best games of all time and did either team score 20? Suspense is key to entertainment and the cowboys v sharks game was not suspenseful in the slightest.

Broncos vs Storm in 2015 is an example of a game that I cannot tell you a single thing that happened in it, but it will long live in my memory as being a great defensive effort.

That's one of the Broncos best wins ever IMO.

We won that game 14-12 in Melbourne while they were at the height of their powers.

Melbourne had 56% possession

Melbourne also had 10 forced drop outs to our 0

Spent a good chunk of that game waiting for the inevitable heart break moment.

Didn’t they do a Fox analysis on our defence after that game?

In fairness, Slater was out injured.

Great side that 2015 crop was. Shame they didnt kick on.

Honestly the way we’re playing now reminds me of that team - get marched down the field and don’t wrestle but defend the try line like dogs.

Back our brilliant attack to get us the metres we need.
