SPOILER The Dynasty Begins: The Brisbane Broncos are winning back-to-back premierships in 2026

Meh we lost to the Roosters last year too.

It's all good.

I have to say this game has rattled my faith @Santa

I think the NRL will do absolutely everything in their power to stop us going back to back
If we get a fair run with injuries I don't think even the NRL can stop us tbh.

At full strength we'd have annihilated them tonight. We still nearly did it (and still should have IMO) even against that atrocious officiating. At full strength or anywhere close to it, it's 2023 all over again - Panthers and us, then daylight. Don't lose faith yet, it's way too early in the season for that.

We do need our injuries to ****ing stop though.

Still hanging in the 8 while giving heaps of our stars mid season breaks.

We’ll get everyone back post origin, fresher than the end of any other season, and Billy Walters will hold the shield again this year

We were the most penalised team last year too if that helps 😉

This is the only thing that helps tonight

It still doesn’t feel real, I don’t know why.
Maybe it was because they were overseas for a minute and all the focus was on the game over there, it just feels as though we never got enough time to celebrate them 🤷‍♀️😔

I feel like any and all media coverage has basically ignored that it happened and outside the boys doing a small re-watch for Fox, there hasn’t been anything reminding people of anything in that game.

It’s only been after the last few wins that opposition coaches and a couple of the panel members have audibly said ‘remember they did win the comp last year’

I guarantee that I’ve seen more replays of moments that we lost grand finals than moments that we’ve won them.

No lead is safe.

Down by 30 and injuries plus ref shit housery. 2 brain farts costs us.

We start getting players back, get the bye. We shouldn’t get hit too hard from Origin.

Believe
Shouldn't get hit too hard from origin?

Broncos are a very good chance of being destroyed by origin.... Origin in general has a huge chance of just demolishing teams this year.

The bump up to 6 man benches + the 20th man on top of that means that origin teams won't be picking between the 1st and 2nd best options... they might take the top 3 options for a position like fullback or halfback from each state into the game.

If NSW don't pick a halves pairing of Cleary and Moses, they can still just pick Moses to ride the pine for 3 games and never play a minute.

Qld can take Walsh and Ponga into the game, and one of them could just sit on the bench and not play a minute.

Walsh, Patty and Payne are all certainties

I would say Ezra is highly likely to be making the extended bench at minimum... he might even start with how shit Munster has been going... but Munster is the captain.

Staggs a good chance of making the NSW bench... he covers outside backs, but is physical enough that he could be brought on through the middle.

Piaks was potentially a chance until his injury.

Shiba is way out of form, but he was the centre last year... and Qld have no centres in general.

Im still pissed about last night, and bemoan the whistle we seem to get every week, but we just need to get to finals and we can win it with how fit we are. It is still only round 9 after all.

Top 4 obviously ideal, but if theres ever a side that could finish outside top 4 and win, it's us.

There's plenty to admire about what we've been able to and have been doing with all these injuries. It'll hopefully have us in good stead when we get our full complement back.
