Rookie of the year will be interesting this year.
Verhoeven, Semu, Bukowski, Poates. Duffy and Priki are probably still eligible.
Sailor won it after playing 5 games for the dragons prior but probably didn't have much competition that year.

I just really can’t believe that our second row options are so bad that they justify not having X start at prop.

If you have little faith in Goose as a second row, or if the plan is to use X to attack the halfback that’s fine. But at least put X in the middle for the opening 15 to 20 mins until some of the venom is out of the middle. Then swap X and Goose.

Karp being named is surely wishful thinking with a generous serving of “hiding Poates debut”

Ah well, broncos 50+

I'd like to think the emotion of Fozz coming in has worn off a little now with their loss on the weekend. I don't think they'll take us lightly but they may be down a little after the loss. They're playing a good brand of footy though so we will need to be switched on for sure.

Kobe out is huge, he's been in outstanding form for them from what I've seen.
X-man v Hamole the matchup of the round! Hope that edge are working on their defensive structure all week... I'd prefer him at prop but I don't trust anyone else to cover Hamole.

Should be a great game if the ****wit in the middle can stay the **** out of it.

Yeah, I am pretty sure I heard somewhere that Ben Hunt has started slowly training again.
But yeah, smoke and mirrors I think too.

Not a fan of JUNT being dropped though. I thought he played really well when he came in. Madge mustn't like something about his style or movement. At least he hasn't gone back to JGOS. And PRiki can play 2nd row anyway.

Hopefully Karapani is fit enough to play by Friday. CODE Sports were talking it up like he wasn't a chance to play, but they did that with Mariner this time last week too, then got injured by something completely different in game.

And in terms of JGos and Talty starting prop again, I feel like Madge will be asking them to redeem themselves against a not as strong Manly pack in terms of controlling that opening 20minutes. About the same size pack as ours. They were definitely heavily fatigued by the end of that Penrith game.

Broncos fitness must be pretty good considering how many packs are bigger than us, and we seem to get better as the game goes on.

I want to see more Semu .
Last week the bench got juggled with the backs coming off . Semu and P Riki are bigger bodies I have hopes they can turn the tide if Talty and Gos can keep the Sea Eagles with in striking distance .
Because I do expect them to try to attack the middles after watching bigger bodies against the Broncs 3rd string props .

Brown is good for a brain explosion or 3. Just gotta stir him up

I'm just hoping that the naming of X at second row is just some mind games and someone else ends up out there.

In saying that there is no way that Gos can handle Haumole... bit of an unknown as to whether Tawha might've been scheduled to come onto the edge at some point last year with so many injuries to the backs.

I'm not sure he can handle Haumole either, but he's definitely more physical than Gos... so he might be able to get up in his face before he gets it.

That's usually Reyno's MO when defending big backrowers like Kiks... Ezra I think wants to, but he's bad at reading when to do it and gets up way too early.

Good to have PRiki back to have that combo with Semu off the bench.

A middle of Willison, Patty & Talty with Priki and Semu off the bench is decent enough if we could just find anyone to play on the edge.

So given Karapani won't play you would assume we are down to:

1. Walsh (first choice)
2. Poates (fifth or sixth choice)
3. Arthars (fourth or fifth choice)
4. Shibasaki (first or second choice - he wouldn't be playing if we didn't have so many injuries)
5. Verhoeven (fifth or sixth choice)
6. Mam (first choice)
7. Duffy (third or fourth choice)
8. Talty (fourth or fifth choice)
9. Paix (first or second choice)
10. Gosiewski (fifth or sixth choice)
11. Willison (third or fourth choice)
12. HGiki (first choice)
13. Carrigan (first choice)

14. Rogers (fifth or sixth choice)
15. Piki (sixth or seventh choice)
16. Semu (fifth or sixth choice)
17. Tawha (fourth or fifth choice)
18. Perham (fourth or fifth choice)
19. Junt (fifth or sixth choice)

So we have 6 dudes out of 19 in our first choice position for them. Fortunately, two of them are Walsh and Carrigan.

So is Junt injured or been dropped?

I'd say he's behind Aublix... but he's been behind him all year to be fair.

Madge hasn't been taking backs in both 18 and 19 for most of the year... Jhunt has been 18 most of the year, but not playing... maybe the mass loads of injuries just has him making sure he's got backs on the bench.

We rrally need to play this game in Manly’s half. While our goal line defence has been pretty good, without our wingers and Staggs, its gonna be tough. Also Olakau’atu seems to be back into career best form, and will be near impossible to stop on our line.

Manly lost the count against panthers 8-4... they'll be angels this week

You see who the ref is?

Actually, maybe you shouldn't look...
Unfortunately Wyatt has been relegated to the bunker... he must've done something wrong and they're checking if he can get back on the right path

I'll take him.

Gerard Sutton is one of our better refs. we have a 58% winning record with him
