oooooo I don't know which option I prefer more. I think this one edges it, keeps the club aligned with its family values and Flanno Sr would be able to pick up their peptides program pretty quickly.
You'd have to think they'll promote from within (Pwall or whoever the other guy is).Well there will be a Melbourne cup field of guys wanting the coaching job.
Penriths phones will start to run hot later today.
Winning comps is unreal, and I'm sure it would always be unreal. But he has already got so many comps, a 4 peat, 5 b2b GFs. At some point when you've won all that there's gotta be a thought about why you're still doing it.Ivan's presser connotated that he wanted more of a flexible lifestyle, a life he can enjoy more with him family, (I imagine, travel, other ventures, etc.) ... rather than obsessing over rugby league 24/7 as a head coach.
It's years like this when the finals system doesn't reward the Minor Premiers enough.Only 10 rounds into the season, but Penrith are in a league of their own at the moment.
I think Ivan is a different animal to those two.. Bennett and Bellamy are just football coaches til they die types.. Ivan seems to have a broader view on life, and what he wants from it..I find the decision slightly odd, considering the success he has had, and likely will have over the next 5-ish years, with Cleary at 7.
He could have left an impossible footprint to catch in the modern game. (if not already)
I really do wonder when is the next time we will see a 4 peat. (or 5 GFs in a row)
Also, I wonder if its not an addiction for him as much as it is for Bellamy/WB... clearly those 2 LOVE coaching, and would probably want to do it until they physically cant.

It’s Peter WallaceYou'd have to think they'll promote from within (Pwall or whoever the other guy is).
Gotta keep the secrets inhouse
Well sounds like good news. The QLD Government and NRL have reached an agreement to keep Magic Round in Brisbane until 2032
No mention of how much QLD paid to get Magic Round, but other states and NZ were apparently willing to pay 8 to get the event away from QLD.
As part of the multimillion-dollar deal, the Queensland government has plans to expand Magic Round into an Expo-style carnival that will see the marquee NRL event dominate the Australian sporting calendar.
Bellamy has always been compared to Bennett and I wonder how much of him contuning on is him trying to win more premierships and put that debate to rest.I find the decision slightly odd, considering the success he has had, and likely will have over the next 5-ish years, with Cleary at 7.

Loiero reminds me of Greg Bird. Average player, cheat, punchable face, somehow gets picked in rep teams.Let me guess, the Storm idiot stayed down.
The thing that puts Bennet above Bellamy and even Ivan in my eyes, is not only success at multiple clubs, but also success at all level of representative football.Bellamy has always been compared to Bennett and I wonder how much of him contuning on is him trying to win more premierships and put that debate to rest.
On the other hand Ivan has gone from former tigers coach to surpassing every modern coach in the space of 5-6 years.
There hasnt been time for any debate or discussion on that and he's already sitting at the top... Bellamy has been compared for pretty well 20 years at this point... and he still hasnt exceeded Bennett.
