NRL 2026 Round 11 Discussion

He'll be fine next week. They can't win now, so he's having a sulk.

Oh, would you look at that!

After watching the first 20mins of the Sharks v Dogs game, I thought to myself, okay, not that many ruck infringements or penalties, and if the Doggies weren't shit, would've been a really good game.

Then turn to Bunnies vs Phins, ruck infringement galore and game over by half time. Granted the Bunnies didn't play that great. But still.

Both games are blow outs by half time, they are basically pointless to watch.

Now, I thought to myself, this is WAY more than last year, so I looked at the stats.

Average lead at half time this year is 12-16 points
Average lead at half time last year is 8 points
Even during the initial 6 again debacle, it never got past 12 points on average.

Congrats on PVL and co for making the game less balance than it has ever been and blaming everyone else except themselves for forcing rules changes that they promoted as "more tries, more excitement, more even contest".

Refs need to be told "if you wouldn't call it as a penalty, then don't call it as a 6 again"

I have no idea how Cam Murray escapes any suspension or fine with his high tackle. Kinda crazy how unlucky we get with calls against PRiki and Carrigan

Nah, disagree, IIRC it was pretty much exactly the same. Tackle was made, player was getting up, placed the ball on the tackler's foot, tackler lifted his foot slightly while retreating. Same thing, different result. Happy to be corrected if you want to look it up tho.
Nobody, not even the officials know the rule here.

I was OK with the Preston penalty last week because the onus ought to be on the defender to clear the ruck before the play the ball.

The only argument is that Jake didn't 'clearly lift' the ball before playing it. He simply flipped his hand over to get a quick play the ball, a play the ball by the rules he wasn't entitled to.

However based on last night and the explanation that Colqhoun was retreating it is a completely different read.

That's my issue with the captain's challenge/bunker intervention. You could have one play and two completely valid reads on it. However the goal of the challenge should be to get rid of the clangers - not to get a completely different set of eyes. Especially when the bunker official usually isn't good enough to be an on-field referee.

Only caught the second half of the dogs game. There attack is non existent and you can see there is issues at the personal level between some players.

Really weird in the Souths-Phins game. The first 15 was all rabbits and then they got behind and couldn’t compose themselves and just kept dropping the ball.

Lattrell actually put in a gut effort to take that hit up before he left the field. The fact Bennett and the staff are playing games means he had an injury. Not sure he was sulking. Walker on the other hand

It's being reported that the Rabbitohs bench told Fox League reporter, Jake Duke, that Mitchell was “a bit sore” and that they were “looking after New South Wales” by pulling him off early.

Yeah Duke said this on air during the game just after he was taken off. Very odd

I don't think anyone talks to the sideline commentators...
They just make up shit or state the obvious..

Why is that a penalty? Ball carrying arm doesn’t touch the ground and the tackle wasn’t completed

I guess they said he come to a stop. That should be play in imo. On a night with dew and they are sliding they let that go every time.

He might be the only good one on Fox Sports.

Shaun Johnson said "He's bringing good eno" instead of energy yesterday. Should have his media license ripped up immediately for that.
Yeah I like him.

Johnson was better last night then he was his first few chances. He has toned it down a bit. Too excited.
