POST GAME [Round 11, 2026] - Broncos vs Warriors

There was also the Riki strip and Karapani drop of a short drop out where Shibasaki was pushed into him that would be overturned if we challenged
AKP was called stepping into touch, even though he didn't.

Point is. We are putting ourselves into these positions. Don't be dumb & lazy and we might have a chance.

I stopped watching long before but what did Walsh say to get the dissent penalty. I hope it was "youre a cheating ****"

he would have been marched if he said that.

I don't think he used any foul language this time. he argued with Klein when he wasn't the captain ... and Klein hadn't blown a penalty against us for about 5 seconds

If I'm being totally honest, I'm not overly concerned with where we are at.

When you consider the injuries and suspensions we've had the last 3 weeks combined the possession and territory the team has been up agaisnt, i think they've handled themselves ok. Our opponents all appear to have been genuine top 4 contenders and we've never once thrown in the towl. Yes we've conceeded some points but I think thats more due to pure fatigue rather then defensive system break downs.

We've had both starting front rowers, one back rower, starting winger and centre as well as a lot of depth players missing. Haven't necessarily been on the right end of the 50/50 calls or the bounce of the footy either.

Obviously the elephant in the room is you need to start getting troops back at some stage and you need to be within sniff of the 8 to fire a shot. This competition is a marathon and not a sprint, this weekends bye is exactly what the squad needs.

The other thing to consider with this horrid injury and suspension toll is how much less game time the bulk of our team will have played at end of season if we make finals. You'll have Hass, Jensen, the two old boys hunt and Reynolds who have had breaks for injury. Then Carigan and Staggs both 2 week breaks for suspension. Apart from Willison who's done alot of lifting and Potentially Riki, there shouldn't be anyone else require a rest during the season to freshen up.
We need to make top 4 to win the comp. Top 8 is just making up the numbers

54 minutes for 67 meters, just not what is needed for a starting prop.
Yeah fair point but he's only a pup. Our starting front row are out so in an ideal world he doesn't have to start but here we are....
Abit hard to take runs and make metres as a starting prop when the teams only had about 8 sets in the first half

Top 16 is just making up the numbers this year... panthers to walk it in
Sadly this is true. Top 4 is only chance of winning grand final and looking at the top 4 currently none are on the same level as riff. Broncos could do em over on there day but will miss top 4 after too many losses now

Probably true but still seem to be averaging less metres per run then opposition teams. I know teams rely on the outside backs a lot to make metres but you need the big forwards to push for metres when you don't have momentum on your side, the amount of times Haas pulls us out of defensive shit with a good run is very underrated

I'm all for blaming dodgy ref calls but at some point you got to see the trend of us getting pumped possession wise and giving up way too many metres. We are averaging about 40% in the last 3 games and probably something closer to 30% in the first half alone. The basics of winning ground percentage is being lost, we make mistakes, or give penalities and allow us to get stomped. We haven't kicked deep and pinned the opposition team in their own 50 in far too long and don't wrestle besides on our own goal line. Lost players or not we are getting bent over

Pat is a dumb **** for sure . I had to go back and watch the second half again to check the criticism but he was good in attack. 166m 64 post contact. Maybe a touch lazy at marker a coule of times but after that much D I can forgive him.

So many things Klein missed from the Wahs which he was instantly picking up when we did it. That has always been the problem with 6 agains though, if he can see when we overstep then it should be going both ways.
I have no doubt the refs are working off a tip sheet and have a preconceived expectation on how we will play.
McGuire did address it, passively, in the presser after being asked direct quetions regarding the whistle.

That's when you could hear the question, no idea why they can't get that right.

And this is exactly the problem - the lack of consistency. Within games, between games. With penalties where there might be 10 across the game, ok, it's rare for one to be game-breaking.

But with 6-agains there is 20 across a game and they are NOT at all even and NOT at all consistent, and they can - and do - literally determine the game's outcome.

They are changing the very fabric of the game. Every week our blokes rock up and have to play quite literally a different game to the opposition. It's not even, it's not fair, and I've had a ****ing gutful.
