Doesn’t sound cruel at all. I’m a big believer in heaven. I’m really, really happy for a family member of mine that recently passed.
 
Yeah I can't watch that through, absolutely devastating. 30yo and deteriorating at such a rapid rate over the past 6 months. My heart goes out to him and his family.

Hug your loved ones tight everyone, you never know when your time is going to be up.
 
**** MND. Absolutely devastating disease. Robs a person of so much dignity and self determination, and the fact that we have no idea what causes it or how to treat it is so cruel.

My heart goes out to Jai and all his family. I sincerely hope he is able to fight and inspire people as much as he can. I hope his daughter gets old enough to get to know her dad, my daughter never got the chance to with my mum.

I would say not, there is no known cause. There was a tenuous link with blue-green algae made at one point, but I'm not sure that went anywhere.
 
It has to be of concern, how can it not be?

It's a neurological condition, these guys are copping headknock after headknock.
 
Man that breaks me. I remember him as he was coming through, he was our next Corey Parker. I think I need a moment.

Look, I dislike Bennett and Mitchell but if we can't win it this year, I hope they do it for him.

So tragic and so scary how quickly it takes hold.

There's an interview he did two months ago and you can tell his speech was "off" but he was chatting as if nothing was wrong. It was about his footy career and getting back this year.

He has 2-4 years left if he's lucky. ****ing brutal...
 
Devastating news and that interview with Danika is one of the bravest things I've seen in awhile. I'm glad we were able to hear from him, I always thought he was good company on podcasts and those magazine shows.

Quality player as well. Was right up there as one of the most capped U/20s Broncos and was a stand-out at lock. Will always remember a game against Parramatta where young Bevan French kept tearing the team apart out-wide. The Broncos were rattled, but Jai just rolled his sleeves up, started to get on top of them physically and it gave Ash Taylor all the time and space to show his wares. Taylor got all the accolades but it doesn't happen without Jai.

I was upset when the Broncos lost him to the Titans. Sure, the Broncos could manage without him but I knew his value and knew the Coast were getting a good one. He never really looked back from that point - made his debut for Queensland, Souths brought him in as Burgess' replacement and he became a real Mr. Fix It down there. A tough player too, there was one year he obviously got injured early on, could hardly run and he just kept turning up and doing his best.

That's how I'll remember him. Didn't matter what life threw at him, he just did his best.

Possibly, the experts don't actually know what causes MND.

Although, they were talking to an expert in the MND field on the radio this morning, and he said that MND is the one illness that being physically fit puts you at a higher risk
