FOOTBALL FIFA World Cup 2026

Australia and USA are probably battling it out to maybe get one of the 8 places for best 3rd place finish in group. You guys are ability wise the worst team in the group, but when i have seen USA they have looked really poor. Home advantage may help them i guess but that will also put pressure on as well.
 
I wouldn't be shocked in the slightest to see us not pick up a point unfortunately
 
TBH I think we stand a decent chance. Turkey is the best of the teams listed and while USA should have home advantage, we arent exactly in a group of death. We can absolutely shithouse our way to the 2nd round.
 
It's pretty open this year IMO as far as the winners are concerned. I don't really think there's a standout team. If I was to guess, I'd put my money on Germany. France will always be there or thereabouts with the depth of their squad.
Interested to see how England go with Tuchel.
 
France are the favs and rightly so. If they play anywhere close to their best, they will romp it in.

I like Japan just quietly.
 
Japan are quite good technically but lack the physicality when it gets to the crunch. Need a mix of both to make the next step. But I wish Aus had the junior setup they do, most of their players are excellent on the ball and very disciplined tactically.
 
Im backing Portugal to win it but its a pretty good field at the top. I think Spain will be very hard to beat
 
Why has no one mentioned the best team in the world yet?

Spain are my favourites. I think France, Argentina and England will be thereabouts. I don't think Germany have much hope, they're incredibly light defensively. Portugal have the squad on paper but I just don't see them getting over the line with Martinez in charge.

One of the lesser South/Central American teams will surprise everyone and go far - my money is on Ecuador but wouldn't be surprised if it's Colombia either.
 
Except for 2 posts up where I mentioned Spain, yeah they'll be good. 😉

If for some reason we dont win it, then i want Portugal to win it. 8 current or ex Wolves players, and it would be a brilliant tribute for Diogo.

Great that Volpato has finally chosen us. Hopefully Arena follows suit.

They'll be Spanish fans this time around.

I hope France knocks them out, after an Ousmane Dembele hatty. That would be nice. Barca fans would be rioting.
