So it's become pretty clear the matchfixing involved. 20 mins send off for that was a complete fkn joke, 10 mins fair enough but 20 mins is a clear play to even the score to push for a tight game. Vlandys will be giving Klein a massive pat on the back for tonight, this **** may have built NRL revenue but he has completely corrupted the sport in every aspect. Shame

He would be under strict instructions from PVL/Nein bosses to not question the games integrity etc. Being in the media his response is not that surprising unfortunately.
He knows his side can beat that NSW side so he's basically just playing it down to not blame the refs.

Madge has been doing it all year... don't give the players an excuse...

Billy quietly fuming though

He also doesn't need to say shit, because the media can't just ignore what happened... he knows everyone else will do the talking for him... he also knows that Klown will reverse everything that happened tonight to force a Game 3

Origin is easier to read than WWE

There’s a spider cam shot that shows it better but was upper shoulder to the head which bounced up into Pongas head. Frame by frame looks bad but hey we lost anyway

Will be interesting to see how the judiciary plays it

Suaalii was charged Grade 2 Reckless which was 4-5 weeks suspension... so if they're consistent and think it was an actual send off then Ponga should be copping the same.

OR do they not even charge him (same as Victor) or at worst just Grade 1 him with a fine... therefore confirming that it was absolutely not a send off.

They could go Grade 2 it for a 1 week suspension... the likely response to ensure that Ponga can play Game 2... but there's been a ton of Grade 2's this year and they're not all send offs... so they would also be confirming that it definitely wasn't a send off.

If they do either of the latter then it means that Klown can't adjudicate the game anymore and should be sacked from "top ref in the game"

The NRL will instruct everyone to double-down on it and treat it as if it was as severe as the Suaalii incident. And Klein will ref all 3 Origins this year. They will also wipe away any concerns about him over-riding the bunker because they will claim that the on-field ref is the one with final say.

Klein was looking for a few subtle but crucial moments to swing the momentum in that game, because that is what the refs are instructed to do. NSW's first try with Tedesco running in to someone's back was perfect for him. But then this one whopping great opportunity came along to influence "NSW's greatest ever comeback" and it was too much for him to refuse.

And perfectly on cue, Cleary is there with a 40-20 while there is no winger there to stop it, and scored a try while one of our players is seemingly knocked out in the ruck and play is left to continue. Did I see that he got MOM? Shocked. SHOCKED.

I genuinely don't care about any opinions or feelings after the fact tbh...the bunker told Ashley Klein that it was a head clash and not a send off....Klein sent the player off anyway. Argue the breakdown and bullet points of the situation all you ****ing want but it all boils down to the guy on the field over-riding the guy that has the ability to watch the moment on replay. Absolute stitch up.

Surely cleary went over here.

I was watching it tick down, and they stopped the clock at 00:05 before he had kicked it. I am not sure what the clock was at when the try was scored.

But if he did go over time, and they stopped the clock after the 90 seconds (so there was still time left on the clock) then it would seem that they circumvented NSW forfeiting their attempt, which would have resulted in a 20-all score at full time...
