POST GAME [Round 13, 2026] - Broncos vs Dragons

I knew that was coming. It was absolutely deplorable and completely unacceptable. We were losing 30-8 at one stage to one of the worst teams the last decade. Please think about that for a minute and let that sink in.

I know after every loss we all get on here saying seasons over, we rant and we rave etc, but truthfully, I'm completely embarrassed by that game and the season is over. That's as bad as it gets and I can't invest my time and energy into a team that simply doesn't care and it's obvious they don't care. I've been a Bronco since 1991 and that was actually sad. Again look at how we lost and who we lost to. Still think we can make the top 8 let alone win the premiership? LOL. Catch you all next season.

Honestly even if we somehow managed to scrape in... we'd be so far off the top teams (if they stay true to course) that it wouldn't even be a contest.

Imagine coming up against the chooks/wahs/panthers in the finals with the current trajectory... a flogging to nothing.

I don't understand how a team list that has

Haas, Arey, Staggs, Hunt, Mam, WALSH... can lose to a 0-11 dargons side thats literally been flogged almost every week.

Uncanny...!!!

and when I say lose, I mean... get smashed, were never in it!

We made 16 errors
in the panthers vs wahs game 16 in total
That’s why we keep loosing
Yes ok but let's break it down. 16 errors, why are we making that many errors? It's because of attitude, right? Ok so why do we have a poor attitude? THAT'S what we have to over come and address. Why? Why aren't we raring to go, inspired to defend our premiership and shove it up the entire NRL again? Why can a team like Penrith defend their title 4 in a row and we get belted by the Dragons who were 0-11? Why? It's absolutely ridiculous.

How many did Reece make on his own and how many did he cause by putting team mates under pressure?

Our roster is pretty shitty TBH. If our top liners aren't in form we're no hope. No depth at all this year.. I can't see how replacing Haas with Barnett is going to work out well for us next year

I think it's always best to wait until the evidence is tested in court.
An article was written calling him a war criminal and detailing his crimes. He sued for defamation and lost, after something like 20 of his fellow soldiers testified against him.

Not the same standard of proof as a criminal case, but enough to not invite him into the dressing room I reckon.

That was a pretty uninspiring performance. While I'd like to think its a case of "tapering up" for the end of the year, I'm certainly not convinced it is.

Apart from Hass the effort and energy was very poor, basically zero intensity until the last 10 minutes. It also just happened to be a game where everything the opposition touch turns to gold and that essentially sealed our afternoon.

I've stayed quiet in the hooker situation but watching Origin plus most of the other games this week, any team without a run threat at hooker is at an immediate disadvantage. All year we've had opportunities to split the markers or even only 1 and in some scenarios 0 markers and our hookers continue to just shovel the ball off.

For me the real dissapointment and biggest concern was a few clean line breaks we made and there was absolutely no support in sight. A sea of Dragons defending but zero broncos support players. Also thought our kick chase was really really poor all night and much of our kick pressure was poor.

I'd like to think losing a game to a winless side and basically being the biggest upset of the year is enough to kick-start these guys, but perhaps some minor changes are also needed.

We have to remember that we were saying all this stuff last year until it all clicked. We are in the same predicament now. We were no chance of winning a premiership.

Staggs, Kobe, Cobbo, Arthars, JRiki were all playing like ass. Madge made changes to our back 5 and fixed a few ways we played, and it all worked.

TBF, we didn't have many injuries this time last year. Biggest was Reece and Ben Hunt.

But again, the team chemistry and lineup are where we are at fault.

For example, around this time last year we still had:

Cobbo/Arthars as the main wingers
Patty / Haas / Kobe as prop and lock
2nd Row had X in it some weeks and some week he was off bench.

We made changes to all those 3 areas, and it worked. We need to do the same again.

Last year we didn't lose to a team that hasn't won in 300 days.

The 2026 side is also more experienced and wasn't still getting used to a new coaching style.

The win/loss ratio may be similar to last year but how we've got there isn't.

And if you look at the run metres for this game, all our back 5 had over 160 metres. Which is what we want every game.

Our starting pack needs to improve. Piki and Patty (Injured I know) were passengers until Semu and JGos came on. Semu played 15minutes and made almost 100 metres, better than both JGos and Talty.

Our back 7 leaked 13 errors. How many of them were ridiculous flick passes? I'd say about 6 of them. If we just held the ball during that period, we probably would've had at least 2 more attacking sets with time on the clock to win the game.

It really isn't all doom and gloom. More metres from our starting pack are a must, which helps the back 7 make less dumb errors trying to regather momentum.

Which is why I suggest Patty / Payne prop. You know they will get you 150 metres each. And take your pick of X, Bunt (Ball playing lock) or Semu at lock. PRiki to get a rocket up his arse to start carrying the ball forward. Junt at 2R. We can't have X playing 80minutes and getting 150 metres on an edge while our middle is sloppy.

Do we still have the DUI PR Manager? Letting Adam Walsh invite BRS into the sheds is next level cooked. What’s next? Did she pick him up and have Ezra drive him home?

Small brain stuff

Wdym? We literally lost to the Dragons the previous week, and then an injury riddled Rabbitohs the week before that? We had 1 win in 8 games, something like that.

And, what are you on about "how we've got there isnt" ? We literally had more injuries than last year? Completely different. In fact, we are more under the pump this year, because of that, and we are still the same win/loss ratio.

And in terms of experience, our starting pack we put out this game was more experienced than this time last year.
It took 1 inexperienced player off the bench to gain momentum.

So yeah, I am calling bullshit on your theory.

Broncos didn't commit murder right?
Innocent until proven guilty in a court of law and all that. The civil case was a different standard of proof to a criminal one - "on the balance of probability" rather than "beyond all reasonable doubt".

Having said that, it's not a good look for the club. Adam Walsh likely served with BRS and I'm quite certain BRS has been in the sheds multiple times previously as a Qlder and probably club supporter, but given the shitstorm around him atm he shouldn't have been anywhere near the sheds.
