I'm not suggesting he definitely did not, plenty of organisations cover shit up. What I am suggesting is that until it can be proven that he did, I am not going to crucify a guy that experienced something that millions of people experience. It's kinda why gambling ads have their spiel of gamble responsibly.

They investigated him in 2019, and he didn't exclude himself until 2023. Not saying he's done anything wrong, but a lot can happen in 4 years.

I don't think it's that outlandish of a hypothetical that the lead official in the sport has a gambling problem and he adjudicates the way that he does.

He was overruling the bunker not even 2 weeks ago. That decision directly determined the result of the game.

Why wasnt he blowing the 6 agains for NSW and helping them up the field from the start if he wanted them to win?

Or let me guess? He actually only had a bet on that he needed NSW to comeback from 20 down after halftime. Thats got to be it.

I think you can be critical of how he refs without assuming hes corrupt and betting on games. The people that think the origin call is rubbish is just going to use this as fuel to reaffirm what they already thought.
For the record I thought it was a shit call, but im not making the (il)logical leap that it was borne out of him chasing gambling losses

Like.. maybe hes just a shit ref but let's be honest, does anyone rate any ref? Is every ref corrupt and betting? Who was the last that was unanimously agreed was a great ref and never endured any controversy or scrutiny over their calls?
