Ashley Klein is a corrupt dud

As an ex-heroin addict that hasn't touched the stuff for 25 years.

I wouldn't leave me in charge of the opioid dispensary at a medical clinic.
Sorry but you are still an addict according to some.

It's taken a while to read this thread but wow at people thinking this is ok to have a guy with a gambling addiction controlling games.
There are so many ways to bet on games not just outcomes.
Point spreads , game totals etc and it wouldn't be Klein betting on his own at this level. It potentially could be a third party or even some scumbag account manager in a betting agency.
What about betfair. They don't give a fuclk who's doing what they're just a third party taking a cut as a peer to peer.
At best it's a bad look at worst it could be anything including outcomes within a match or results.

Just because you stop doing it doesn't change the way your brain connects to whatever it is you are addicted to. That is what makes you an addict. Just because you stop doing it, doesn't change shit.
Can’t agree. None of my old vices interest me in the slightest anymore.

Because you know what happens if you engage in any of them, the addiction is still there. Your brain would react the same way it always did if you did engage.

You've learned that those activities aren't healthy for you, which is something you should be proud of, well done.

But I already said I did engage again. I felt nothing. Just this emptiness.

You wouldn't want a recovered ex pedo working in a childcare centre.... they can work as an NRL ref, but not with kids. Similarly happy for Klein to work at Goodstart, don't want him reffing Broncos games.

200% .......and its not like Klein was a small time gambler. He was at some point 400K in the hole. That kind of debt can make a person contemplate doing ANYTHING to clear the debt.

The fact the NRL knew all of this and still gave him the top job would be beyond belief......if you didn't know the NRL. They have headed into.....corruption territory.....not just plain ole incompetence.

Prove it was a debt. I’ve seen nothing, nothing at all that says it was a debt apart from posters on this forum.

I think it doesn't matter; loss is loss, addiction is addiction.
When you have a guy who is addicted to gambling, and has lost close to half a million dollars, he has a problem that he's not in control over.
Putting him in charge of a sport that you can bet on, and he has influence over, is incompetence of the highest order.
It doesn't matter if the losses were debt or not, it doesn't matter if he did or didn't place bets on NRL, he should not have been allowed to continue refereeing at the highest level.
