Broncos Roster, Signings and Rumours Discussion 2026

All the good ones would be signed, and tough to rip one out of a club mid-season. You would hope they are looking for next year though.

Unfortunately, Teo leaving as he did likely hasn't allowed much chance to get a defensive coach of note this year.

Been a few sliding doors moments this year. The season still wouldn't be great but losing to both the Cowboys and Titans the way we did and arguable the Eels game and the season looks much differently.

We won a premiership off the back of our defence last year. I think a good defensive display to start the season in the three games post Teo is more just credit to Teo...

The fact is now that hes gone we are conceding almost 50 points again and I dont remember doing that once while he was here...

Hes a massive loss and the reasons he left could be to do with whatever stinking shit is going on at the club behind closed doors..

18 points put on the Broncos at half time in the prelims.
14 at half time in the Semis.
22 at half time in the Grand Final.

Not exactly winning off the back of the defence. It was really more the insane stamina and resolve they showed, plus Reece Walsh going nuts in the 2nd halves.

How many did we concede in the second half of those games?

Yeah we finished 7th for points allowed last year... I think we were the worst defensive team to win a comp since Tigers in 2005.

But don't worry Sydney is telling everyone that Teo is a defensive god

Well....no.

See football is played over two halves and to concede 14, 22 and 28 points in three 80 minutes games is pretty unremarkable really.

You dont win a grand final with shit defence and Teo can be credited for our defence. It was good. Now not so much.

Yeah, for next year I meant.

Are there any “capable” D coach we can look to recruit or poach? 2 new clubs entering the comp for n the next 2 years makes that task more difficult I would imagine. There could be someone lurking around from our affiliates

My take away from origin:

Bring Selwyn home. Far out Redcliffe has been great for him.
 
Not sure he’s turned everything around with a few weeks of good form. Plus I’d prefer we bring Plath and Capewell home first

Well I don’t watch the NRL, so I have no idea if he’s going well or not but he was stunning tonight.
