THE BOSS Maguire Stomped The Naysayers! But...8 Months Later, Here We Are.

Fleg is a great player but he was also a liability and really had to tone that aspect of his game down. There was that infamous Warriors game in 2022, but even Origin I 2023 with Turbo wasn't great and there wasn't a lot in it.

Yeah I get it but sometimes this is the benefit in a loose cannon. Yes they might cost you but you also know other players are scared to run at these guys because they know, legally or otherwise, they are getting belted and that can have a psychological impact on the opposition.

I want them to emulate a Matt Gillett type in defence. Everything he did would have stung, but was never illegal or even a risk of a “he plays for the Broncos” penalty. Unless, of course, he was 40 metres onside against the Dragons.
Matt Gillett is one of those names that makes me sad anytime someone talks about there career. Like Yow Yeh

Thats probably the type of player i'm thinking of really.

Sadly I think this has been phased out of the game and it's all about your heat-seeking players.

Gillo used to actually defend like that. He'd miss a ton of tackles but a lot of the time it was because he shot up out of the line and was able to halt the opposition player's momentum and make them easy prey for the other defenders.

Even with Fleg, I think it was his ability with the ball that made him valuable.

Always thought it was interesting that Brisbane prioritised Flegler over Farnworth. Flegler was the one they desperately wanted to keep but the Dolphins offer and the ability to be the focal point of the pack was too tempting.

I'm not subbing to Kayo next year. I'm going back to the high seas. **** these *****.

I watched a clip posted on X from that, and Crawley dead ass said Cobbo has been in this good a form all season, which is absolutely not true.

He was making 3 and 4 errors a game under the high ball to start the year, and has only really come around the weeks leading to origin.

Just after that Cobbo bs he again linked Payne leaving to Madge too.

Don't worry guys I've got Cobbo back in SVRL OTC... he'll go back to being shit now 👍

The best part was when Riccio who is usually ready to pour it on to the Broncos any chance he gets disagreed as did Braith who brought up his attitude. Crawley, who more than any other journalist, loves to get stuck into the Broncos kept with his narrative. It has to be a Madge thing, not a Cobbo thing.

Crawley says whatever Wayne tells him to say.

Broncos should be going out of their way to make things as hard as possible for Souths and Wayne whenever they possibly can.

I just love that Cobbo basically said the Broncos were right to let me go.

Shows been shit since Ikin left
It just progressively got worse over time.

I still think it was watchable until 2017 when they started rotating the journalists each night.

It still wasn't completely unwatchable but each year the show would get worse. It started when Hooper replaced Webster, then they started bringing in two journos at a time, then Ikin left and the show just continued to crater.

It must have been 2021 when I tuned out. I'd watch anything that was Rugby League just for the pure osmosis but the show started off with a story about Cooper Cronk confronting Phil Rothfield and I was done.

They just wanted to make themselves the story and all the faux drama and rage bait was enough.
