There's the guys that are off contract, but there are also the guys that are buried behind first graders... and also guys that are off contract in 2027.

If theyre buried on the depth chart AND off contract for 2027... decent chance you can sign them and get a release from the club at the same time

Agreed... apparently rorters are after him, but we should come in with a decent deal to poach.

I dont think Murray is exactly what we want, because the modern winger has to be a workhorse and he's not exactly doing that.

He is an absolutely elite finisher though (maybe the best in the game), good under the high ball and he's shown some elite defence in origin.

Karp messed up. I thought the first incident would be a wake up call and he’d knuckle down which he kinda did. It’s disappointing because he’s been our most consistent player.

When you look at the list of off contract in 2027 there are some very good candidates.

Outside of the obvious guys like Herbie, Alamoti, Coates, Bostock, etc. but guys possibly buried in the depth chart or possible salary cap cannon fodder:
- Jack Howarth (I'd prefer him if he can still be a backrower rather than a centre... not sure he has the agility or physicality to be a full time centre)
- Tony Francis (Tupou's brother)
- Tevita Naufahu (probably gets Isaako's wing spot, but looks a gun)
- Junior Tupou (was a decent player for tigers a few years back, but has been unsighted for awhile now)
- Jojo Fifita (not buried, but have a chat with him given recent events with Karp)
- Val Holmes (salary cap fodder, let's add him to the retirement home... wing only)
- James Schiller (tricky one, because I think he looks alright at times, but at other times he has some absolute shockers)
- Seb Kris? (another one from Canberra could be Tamale... Ricky has pulled him a couple times... maybe they are happy to release?)
- Xavier Savage (not really a workhorse and I think raiders will want to keep him, but possibly gettable?)
- Moses Suli (probable salary cap cannon fodder... is a left centre)

Not many prospects at fullback, but maybe Chevy as that backup to Reece / get a second chance to promote yourself (I think he's had off field issues though).

Its always fascinating to me every time I see someone like Alamoti not in their run on side. Its ridiculously good depth. I know theyve had other gun options replace him essentially, but if you can get him to play like he has at Penrith for most of his time there, what a get.

The bits ive seen this year on wing, his yardage carries are excellent and he's a pretty good finisher.

He's an absolute weapon, but Tago is now the depth and expendable one at penrith.

I don't think I'd want Tago though... he's a religious nut that doesn't want to accept modern medicine or something... not great in NRL where blokes are getting injured.

I think he had a pec injury or something pretty major a few years back and was like I'm not having surgery... I'll stick with my bone broths and shit... he's basically not been the same player since that point.
 
It certainly appears that we're struggling to attract decent players to be depth signings. We really need our scouts to be finding the talent and it developing quickly. The production line of forwards we used to have seems weaker than usual.

I'd 100% take Kris. One of my favourite underrated players. Always competes.
