But again, how does free-flowing = great game necessarily? I have said nothing about free flowing footy. To me a 2-0 defensive grind is a great game. There was a game maybe last year that ended something like 6-4 between Penrith and Canterbury and that was arguably the game of the year in my opinion, a real throwback to way better times.

Last night was high completion footy with minimal ref stupidity in horrendous conditions between the last two premiers both playing near their best - I honestly don't get how that isn't a great game. Maybe I'm missing something.

It didn't even feel manufactured close either. I thought Brisbane threw heaps at Penrith and did so at a high completion rate despite being terrible weather and Penrith's amazing defense was for the most part holding up.

But hey, as @1910 said, I don't watch other games, so it is definitely possibly I might be missing something, so I'll leave it there.

You didn't but 1910 clarified that the attack was clunky from both teams. A high calibre game is where you see teams put together quality attacking football and it's met by quality defence. The defence was right up there but the attack wasn't great.

Especially from a couple of senior players from the Broncos. Some would argue that Reynolds had his worst career game last night. You're entitled to disagree if you felt it was a great game that's fantastic.

It's just beside the point. That win in 1992 was the moment when Brisbane felt confident the Broncos could go all the way. It's high praise and that's getting lost.
 
Honestly. The game was good and bad but boy oh boy I was in awe of reece walsh last night. That was one of the best games of his career. He proved that he can run the side. Seeing him with the ball In his hands multiple times a set was breathtaking to say the least.

Quit arguing over the petty shit lads. It was the best win of our season and just enjoy it!
 
Reyno looked off last night and probably has for a while, but we cant forget that nobody on the field last night knows as much about rugby league than him. If his job for the rest of the season is to receive the ball from paix and pass it to walsh, we should all be thankful that the great man made his way north and pulled us from the depths of hell.

He's had what, 2 good games all year? There comes a time for hard calls. Lots of coaches have dropped big names when they are playing like shit. Particularly the legends, like Wayne.

Stripped the captaincy and dropped King Wally. Dropped Kevvie. Dropped Sailor. Dropped Boyd.

Langer quit mid-season to go to super league - many still believe that Wayne had a hand in that because he was going shithouse for us.

Yeah he needs to fall back into his souths role... cog in the machine to setup Walsh.

Although Walsh is no Latrell or Cody.

Latrell will happily sit out the back of shape and wait for it... Reece was jumping into first receiver and taking the ball off Reyno.

Reyno looked seriously lost last night... and why wouldn't he... Reece was playing his position and role in the team so he had no idea what he was meant to be doing out there.

for example take Bellamy, widely rated as one of the best coaches in history. in 2026, his team went on an 8 game losing streak. his captain played very poorly for most of those 8 games ... sound familiar?

please show me where this star got dropped. in fact show me any stars that Bellamy dropped this year

Oh so now we're limiting results to one particular coach? So no longer "there is not a single coach in the game" - but now a single coach? Talk about changing the goal posts.

Sure, they lost 8 games. But watching those games, it wasn't Munster solely to blame for their woes, the whole team was playing like shit and they were chopping and changing players regularly, particularly in the middle and on the edges.

ARey has been dogshit for months with the odd good game. He's frequently hobbling and struggling to get through games. His kicking was back to a good standard early in the year but went off a cliff again. We basically have to permanently hold a bench spot free to bring in a half to cover for him as he's either been injured in and struggled on, or come off injured in half the games he's played this year.

Compare that to a 32 year old Munster who played like shit for two months at the start of the year and has started to find some form as the year progressed. Hasn't had the injury woes. Still has several good years left and went on to captain QLD.

Adam's gotten worse, not better.

NAS isn't Munster, but he sure as shit got dropped by Bellyache for not performing and was on probably the same or more than what ARey's on this year.

Hasler dropped FiFi, one of the highest paid players in the NRL.
