Unless he basically comes on unders for 2025 and then takes Reynolds' salary plus some of the list clogging halves / hookers for 2026. But hey, we now have the Paps precedent thanks to the Storm.
They were also overwhelming favourites last year and we took them down. Of course we did get smashed by them in round 1 this year but much better side now.
I also like that India haven't been afraid to give some young guys a shot, even at the expense of some of their proven champions. You can say Australia has done this with McSweeney but what other choice did they have?
As much as it would be harsh on Boland to overlook him in the rotation...
Crazy to think that two days into the series (2 sessions in if we are being truly honest), Australia look absolutely shot. They look tired, disinterested and unprepared. Its a long series but these are not just bad signs, they are deeply troubling.
This is just awful bowling. The bowlers were massively let down but the batsmen but this looks like they’ve all just given up. If this continues, I hope there are some changes for the second test but I doubt it regardless of result.
Richardson back for WA. He's been out too long to rush back in unfortunately but let's see how long before he pulls another something that keeps him out for months.
I know I keep going on about him but I'd seriously consider O'Neill to debut at some point during this series.
Australia has to show some attacking instincts. I actually think the way England is going about it is what will happen to test cricket moving forward. Very few batsmen now have the technique or patience to stick at it for hours on end anymore.
I still think McSweeney was a little hard done by, I am really not sure that was definitely in line, it looked a definition umpire's call impact to me.
It wasn't me but do you reckon he'd do worse than half that batting line up today? This Australian side have looked awful in the top 6 for the last 2-3 years.
