CRICKET Australia v India Summer

Looks like the ball is 65 overs old already... doing nothing... think I've seen them beat the bat once so far... any edges are just dying instantly
Yep. So you’ve gotta attack the stumps and set the field accordingly

It's crazy because years ago when India first won in Aust after how ever many years, they did it by attacking the stumps... and the poms have started attacking the stumps.

Australia just keep bowling the channel and stay there no matter what.

Hazlewood ends up looking our most dangerous because he gets bounce from his height.

This is just awful bowling. The bowlers were massively let down but the batsmen but this looks like they’ve all just given up. If this continues, I hope there are some changes for the second test but I doubt it regardless of result.

Watch it look like a minefield though when Bumrah bowls again. Australia are really falling apart here.

CA have developed a terrible arrogance. It’s so much harder to get in the team these days too. Way harder to get dropped

They’ve also allowed this current senior playing group to lead a nice, cosy, comfortable existence over the last two and a bit years .. choosing when and how much they train and play and operating just as much as a wellness camp as an elite cricket side..

When these guys shuffle away into retirement in a year or two (they’ll choose when) , surely there’s a hard reset to the way the Australian cricket team operates

Labs added 20kph to his bowling? He used to be around 115, he’s bowling 135 here, that’s faster than late career McGrath.

Crazy to think that two days into the series (2 sessions in if we are being truly honest), Australia look absolutely shot. They look tired, disinterested and unprepared. Its a long series but these are not just bad signs, they are deeply troubling.

Unprepared is probably the correct word... I feel like India got wrecked by NZ because they were looking at this series and thought they could just walk it in for their home series.

Leaving Jadeja and Ashwin out is a big call... they also look like they bat deep because they know their batting has been susceptible.

Australian batters still look miles out of form and still look late on every ball regardless of the pace.

The bowlers can only save them so many times.

Absolutely hope the hard reset happens. They’ve been given far too much leeeway and not really dominated at home like I’d have expected z

I also like that India haven't been afraid to give some young guys a shot, even at the expense of some of their proven champions. You can say Australia has done this with McSweeney but what other choice did they have?

As much as it would be harsh on Boland to overlook him in the rotation through the series, he's old and Australia is woefully unprepared for the mass retirement exodus incoming. Who replaces Khawaja? Smith? Marsh? Starc? Hazlewood?

As much as I love Richardson, in many ways, he's a bowling Pucovski, he may never get his issues right.

Australia doesn't even need to bring in super young guys, just guys closer to 30 than 35 at least. I'd be seriously looking at bringing in Inglis as a batsman for next test, Webster and O'Neill.

So, I'd go:

1. Khawaja
2. Inglis
3. McSweeney (unless Labs scores something in the second innings)
4. Smith (this would be his last series for me unless he rediscovers something)
5. Head
6. Webster
7. Carey
8. Cummins (he has also been off for a while now, but he's captain, so he isn't getting dropped)
9. Starc
10. O'Neill (Hazlewood rotated out)
11. Lyon

No I haven't. Goes good?
Yeah mate, it’s Gilly, Vaughny and the Professor from the Matty Johns show back in the day. A good listen to hear them a bit more casually without the corporate pressures of fox.
