CRICKET Australia v India Summer

WTF is this shit batting? Ummmm......so didn't the Kiwi's just smash India at home?

I would have liked to have seen us be just a little more aggressive, it's the old Shane Warne saying.. if you add 2 wickets and 20 runs to the total, where are you?

We're absolutely fucked, that's where we are.

I think India have developed into a pace strong attack, they used to throw 3-4 spinners at you, their pace bowlers would just be there to extract the swing on the hard new ball.

Cummins was facing Bumrah like he was scared of getting hit. Backing away.

He's a bowler so you can forgive it a little, Australia had some batsmen doing the same thing though and that isn't ok. They all look scared of him and hey, he's a great bowler for a reason but if you going to get out, at least make some runs along the way.

Who was it who wanted Sam Konstas? I don’t think he’d score a run all series if he struggled against the India A blokes.

It wasn't me but do you reckon he'd do worse than half that batting line up today? This Australian side have looked awful in the top 6 for the last 2-3 years.

If we don't win this game we might be fucked. Sharma and Gill are coming back next game.

*if* we lose this series, then losing 3 home series straight to India must be one of the most embarrassing things to ever happen to Australian cricket (maybe the most embarrassing?). It would be weird as it'd be surrounded by quite a few successes, but still...

All points to moving away from the Gabba as the first test of the summer, and when we have played Tests there we've been trash

Lost to Pant-led India a few years ago and lost to the Windies last year.

We hadn't lost a Test there for 32 FUCKING YEARS and then CA in their infinite wisdom move it to Perth or Adelaide.

Now we won't even get an Ashes next summer

What a disaster from our batting line up. Just no idea how to bat properly anymore. Steve Smith is past it now and Marnus is in bad nick for the 3rd year in a row.

He looked well out of his depth against India A. WELL. It’s kind of hard to do worse than what anyone did yesterday because they all went as bad as you possibly could, but no chance could Konstas come out of that looking like anything more than your average 2nd grader.

Hard to see us getting a result out of this game if we don't somehow get to 100 or so.

I thought we were too passive, i'm not saying start reverse hitting for 6 but at least get a bit of pressure back on them. Marnus was just there waiting for one with his name on it and sure enough, he got what he was asking for.

You are correct but it’s up to respective organisations boards to agree upon as well. If Australia want the hotspot the broadcaster will be using the hotspot. It is expensive but Australia has always been the biggest supporter and India have notoriously always been very against it. At the end of the day I’ll back your knowledge in that the broadcaster had the final say but whether they were for it or not that tech was most certainly not going to be there in an Indian series.

But Hot Spot is not part of the official judicial DRS process mandated by the International Cricket Council and Fox Cricket boss Steve Crawley strongly backed the decision by the host broadcaster to dump the expensive and unreliable technology which is not used anywhere else in the world.

“No one else in the world uses it. And there was constant criticism of it,” Crawley told this masthead.

“On hot days it didn’t work. The whole bat and everything out there was hot.

“Originally it was a Channel 9 thing. We continued it because we had the deal with the company. No one else in the world was using it and we wanted to move on.

“It wasn’t universally accepted. No one else in the world was using it and it wasn’t part of the (ICC’s) judicial system which we paid for anyway.

“We chose to use our money in other ways because of the criticisms of it – the fact some days it worked and some days it didn’t. So we’ve moved on.”

It’s sad how Smith looks to be completely cooked. There are also signs that the old Marsh is back and last summer was a flash in the pan: we can’t afford to carry him

They didn’t have Williamson either. They also have that freak Jamieson to come back in as well.

Edit: I doubt we make any changes this series, it’s just not how our selectors have operated over the past 30 years. The series will come down to which side’s batting is in worse form.

Game and series over imo.. that wicket taking loosener from Bumrah pretty much confirms that Australia is completely snake bit by him and has no way of handling him at all
