Yeah I would think so given he was apparently in Sydney. I'm not sure if that was just because he doesn't have a BBL contract though. Obviously Connolly also is a bit speculative but there has been some noise (not from me) in the media he might be an inclusion.

That’s 16 and reports are Inglis is the back up keeper so that means Handscomb is unlikely which I find strange. If Head plays opener which I think he will there is a high chance McSweeney will get his chance at 5.

I'd love to see McSweeney at 5, he is amore than handy spin option too but I wouldn't be surprised to see them give Connolly a go.

As much as you want to win every test, the team has qualified for the WTC final, so these tests are potentially somewhat of a free hit to get experience in to the younger guys if they want to. I wouldn't be surprised to see just one paceman used for example and then they could run out something like:

1. Head
2. Konstas/Khawaja
3. Labushagne
4. Smith
5. McSweeney
6. Webster
7. Carey/Inglis
8. Connolly
9. Starc
10. Murphy
11. Lyon

Don’t think you want to play Starc as your only quick. Lyon and Murphy/Kuhnemann good enough to get the job done by themselves. Obviously if it’s a spinners wicket Webster can alternatively bowl tweakers whilst also contributing with seam up overs and McSweeney and Head are quite good spin bowling options as well.

Cooper Connolly has 0 FC 100’s and 0 FC wickets. Think he is an excellent prospect but I’m just not seeing how he fits into this team above anyone. Against Sri Lanka I personally don’t think we need to bat that deeply to 8 and I don’t think he is a valuable bowler to Australia at all. Would rather Head bowl tbh.
 
I also don’t think Konstas has sub-continent success in him yet. A lot more technical. He looked not up to it when he relied on his technical natural game in the Indian series, especially against the spin of Jadeja.
 
Abbott over Richardson, Inglis over Handscomb. The only final 2 TBD’s. Be interesting to see the 11 now.
