Absolutely this. No disrespect to 1910 because they seem to be pretty plugged in, but it's an absolute embarrassment that the likely most accurate information on whether an NRL player is available or suspended is an unverifiable pseudonymous person making posts ten pages deep in a fan forum...
As I recall he missed the last trial in Mackay with a very, very late positive test. So he's only been recovered from covid for a week or thereabouts. Still showed some wheels at times though.
Aye I was impressed by those too. One I didn't notice until watching the Kelly try a few times over was Farnworth absolutely screaming in from the left in support in case Kelly was run down. Deadset rocketboots on and he only let up when it was clear Kelly was in for all money. Regardless of...
I'd still like to see Herbie stay, but only on reasonable terms. He committed to us last time when we were at a really low point and I don't think it was for overs, if he can stay and play a solid role in the team for a fair wage that would be ideal. If he gets offered a payday to leave though...
I know Hodgo smoked, at least when he was on the turps earlier on in his career. But there should be a bit of a generation gap there, us older blokes grew up surrounded by smokes and so many role models were smokers, but for these younger NRL players surely they weren't brought up in the same...
At least Corey's been working on his hand strength.
100%. It's easy to forget just how much damage White and Pies did to the culture. Between Ikin, DD and Kevvie I'm expecting Oates to really respond positively and get back to being a world-beater, culminating in a hatty when we whip the Storm...
I wonder if Herbie would even want go back to living in some frozen shithole anyway, didn't he come here at 15 or so? A few years of sun and sand in the blessed state of Queensland should've spoiled him for anywhere else I reckon.
One other thing Locky has over Smith is Locky did his full share right through to the end. Played for state and country right through to his last moment. Smith dogged Queensland by throwing in the towel before game one, at a time when we were already facing massive churn. I'd be more likely to...
I'm partway through a long interview podcast with Tyson and I'm not sure he'll ever get complacent. From what he's said so far he's always had to fight to even get selected for a squad let alone been able to take a starting position for granted.
What did everyone think he was going to say? Of course he's going to talk up his new club. Should he have pulled a Hayne and given an interview talking about how he'd really like to still be at the Broncos?
Plus Pies had a massive sook in the papers about mean old Wayne not leaving the Broncos without being pushed, talking to Souths about preseason training and players. Meanwhile fatso was happy enough to weigh in on our roster and get his boots under the coaching desk while Wayne was still sitting...
Iirc that contract had to be a big one - the NRL would not register a new contract for Lodge until/unless his lawsuit in the states was paid out, and it's pretty hard to organise a multi-million dollar loan without having a large salary deal to show the lender it can actually be paid back...
