One more personal point. I was behind Kev all the way. But overtime he lost me. I could completely understand players belief in him fading too for the same reasons mine did. I obviously know nothing about the inside of the club but it was plainly obvious that Patty and Adam had lost something in...
He also made the comment "not so much the last four years" he seemed to be saying thank you to everyone in the past and to his coaching staff but that's about it.
Kev for all the good about him has some bad traits like all of us. But the problems he has makes for a bad coach. He isn't a good...
Our players will do exactly what they did with Kev to Arthur or Holbrook. We have done the buddy coach and it's time for a change. Plus I can't deal with another bloke that will have his son replacing Reynolds.
Surprised I actually agree with Parker here. All the other old boys are too connected to Kev even if they say they aren't biased they are. That's fine also, respect Webcke a lot but he isn't being as honest with himself as he thinks.
The prima donna aspect is exactly why we can't have our next coach be anything like Kev. I don't think we can ever win a comp while we have our current mentality. If we loose a few players along the way I think it will be the ones unwilling to make the sacrifices to be successful.
Holbrook...
It has to be Madge, I know a lot of people will disagree and not like it at all. But he is the guy that will bring the Broncos into the modern game. We will wrestle, we will be offside, we will walk forward at the play the ball, we will take penalties and defend them. We will bend rules, break...
Yes earlier in the year I would have agreed but there was a few occasions that made me scratch my head when Mozer got pulled off when he started making good impact and especially when choosing to play an obviously injured Walters over Smoothy or Mozer.
Everything you say is correct. If Kev used Billy the way he should be used (utility) off the bench, then yeah keep him. But there were games this year where it seemed Kev was attempting to not deploy Mozer in order to have Billy on the field. The coach is to blame here because he is letting his...
So as I said a few pages back Kev personality is an issue, having thin skin, stubbornness and paranoia. Ben Ikin was forced out due to Kev obviously wanting to own recruitment (to save his son) and likely because Ikin was being talked about in the press as being part of the success.
We also...
100% I hope Walters turns it all around and proves my lacking confidence to be nothing more than an over reaction. A lot of it has to do with close to a decade of mediocrity and worse. My biggest issue with Kev has been bringing in family, it's a disaster waiting to happen.
It's a shame really because Kev has the passion for the club but does he have the coaching ability. Obviously something stinks and honestly I am just guessing but the boys haven't looked happy or together all year. Something happened somewhere along the line. Not sure what it was, but Kev was...
My biggest issue around Kev is that when he is having issues you can tell when certain people come out swinging in the media. The turn on Reynolds is disgusting really. We have seen it with Ikin also. I believe Kev has a few personality issues that hurt him, being thin skin, stubbornness and...
One more thing to add, Ben Ikin leaving after all the crap went down was a big red flag against Kev as it appeared he couldn't work with somebody he felt was taking his shine or decisions away from him. This years recruitment ect is down to him and every one of them has sucked. The club gave Kev...
The problem with the injury excuse is other teams had them including Penrith/Storm and still performed. We have not turned up even when we had our team together. The games we have won, we didn't play well. We have been terrible this year, we look like a team who isn't prepared to play physical.
I thought Kev was improving, until this year. Nothing has actually changed and it looks like last year was a fluke based on our natural skill level , lack of injury and a lot going our way. We are looking no better than the year he took over which means when the going got tough the boys have...
Excellent rundown. I agree, my fear now is that Kev unlike Ciraldo doesn't seem to be building something or appear to have a plan that he is clearly working towards, that will see light at the end of the tunnel. The dogs have had a focused, recruitment and on field strategy that has shown small...
Yeah I agree with what your saying, I would argue Jensen, Hoeter, Periara have been that type of player and Hetherington was up until this year. Hoeter and Periara have been injured which adds to your depth argument. We have been running a fairly diluted team this year and players have been...
