2012 Predictions thread

For those who put the Roosters in the top 8, why do you think they can make the 8? Personally I struggle fitting them in the 8. Their losses outweigh their gains, with Myles gone. Jason Ryles wasn't crash hot but added a bit of experience to the pack. They're both gone. Todd Carney is also gone. They've gained Mortimer and a few other fringe first graders, but that's it. Also their backline is suspect. Minicheillo is getting on, then you've got guys like Justin Carney, Sam Perrett who are just average. This Moga kid could be something but who knows? SKD is good, but the only shining light in that backline. Anasta is getting on and it looks like Smith wants him at 5/8. Pearce will need to improve big time. Their pack isn't crash hot really. Kennedy is still sturggling with injury, then you've got Mose and FNP that can play up front too. Backrow is ok without being outstanding.

I honestly can't see them making the 8.

I have to say I agree with Rock, I can't see them making it, and if they have a paricularly bad season it would not surprise me to see Smith punted.

Broncos...Warriors...Melb...Cronulla...West Tigers...St George...Penrith...Cowpokes...with a massive log jam of 4 teams who all could make it in with 2 weeks to go.....real tight finish with the Broncs firming to unbackable favourites by mid season.....Parra and Souths will fight for the spoon although the roosters and dogs will be nearly as dreadful....Cronulla will surprise and make the 8 comfortably...Qld again 2/1

I was mostly wrong (although, not by much on some) but the Souths & Manly predictions were terrible. Reynolds & McGuire really proved me wrong & for whatever reason (may have been trial teams and couple interviews) I didn't get the impression GI was moving back to fullback. With Manly, I thought they'd lose the bulk of their talent but they held onto everyone they wanted and are currently the favourites to win the premiership.

ahaha i had roosters listed in the top 8. wtf? i cant even understand why i would of thought that. i can at least remember/justify my other poor predictions. classic.

Truth is they had/have a pretty fair roster and it would not have been impossible for them to reach the eight. They were a chance as were parramatta, it's not like either of those teams were no chance. I got 4 out of eight...that's about right seeing as every team only had to win half their games to qualify
