Last year, 37 000 plus went to see 1st versus 16th on an afternoon where families made a day of it. It had been ages since Rugby League fans had really soaked up the occasion and you could barely move around Caxton st. The impact that match would have had on fans would have been enormous and it turned what would have been an absolute stinker into a highlight.
Instead of capitalizing on that and shifting a Broncos v Knights (as opposed to Tigers/Storm & Canberra/Cronulla), Broncos v Raiders (opposed to Manly/Penrith) or Broncos v Panthers (opposed to Cronulla v Newcastle and Dragons v Tigers), the Broncos fans get inundated with Thursdays and Fridays. It was like the administrators completely forgot about that game, remembered the Round 26 clash against Melbourne and thought Broncos fans would love Thursdays.
It's rubbish and the NRL is completely killing whatever culture can be established up here.
