2018 NRL Side

Trial, though with Kyall you never know jk mate.

I think Thaiday's ongoing inclusion in the team will actually depend on how the team goes. If they are winning regularly, he'll be carried, if they are losing regularly, he may be one of the first out if he continues his decline.

Wayne didn't give a shit about that. It's clear from what we've seen from Gordon post career that he is a bit of a twat. There was obviously a reason why he got benched. No one will ever truly know the answer.

Thaiday however is a respectful clubman and a team player. He'll see out the year in first grade because he'll deserve to.

Mark my words, all you on the Thaiday hate train will be taking it back
Hey, it's a bit much to be calling it a hateful thing to voice a well reasoned opinion. It takes some courage to make a call and receive the consequences, most of the people here forecasting a fall from grace for Thaiday also have great respect for his many and important efforts.

The side I think they will put in is
1.Issako
2.Pearson
3.Kahu
4.Shibaski
5.Allan
6.Turpin
7.Nikorima
8.Offa
9.Murphy
10.Haas
11.Oates
12.Staggs
13.Mago
14.Fifita
15.Funkai
16.Taueli
17.Carrigan
18.Sua
19.Fai
20.Burns

Is this for the Titans trial?

I suspect that Tagatese might have been signed to cover the experience gap in the event that Sam is punted.
You may well be correct but Thaiday has always been a second rower covering prop. Sure he may have covered other positions in the past but he has never seemed to me at least, be a genuine out and out front rower. Taga on the other hand did become one although he was a different player years ago. I think it was just plain luck that saw him signed, depth and experience on a budget. I don't think WB ever intended to sign him prior to December last year but now that he did he looks like a perfect candidate to replace Lodge or Sims when required, similarly to his role last year at the Sharks.

As much as I love Sammy if he's not making as much of a impact as the younger guys coming though are he shouldn't automatically deserve a spot.
Like Bennett has said he's got to put the best players on the park because the broncos need to win a premiership.
Being such a club man I'm sure Sammy with all of his experience would understand that better then most. Towards the back of last season he was struggling to make 100 meters

Agree, it's not a hate thing. With Moga it was a hate thing. With Thaiday it's a disappointed thing.

What is our contingency plan in 2019 if Nikorima at 7 fails? Do we look to promote from within (Nona, Dargan) or do we go to market? There are not many obvious choices that would fit the mould for what the broncos need at halfback

I find it very strange that Peter Wallace at halfback with the side we have got now... doesn't seem so bad

We'd be stupid to not at least enquire about Nathan Cleary, you never know, maybe he wants to be coached by Wayne Bennett. He's currently under contract for 2019, but as we all know, contracts mean nothing.

Jacks isn’t the worst choice.

failing that the two young halfbacks we have on the books, Boyd and Paix. let’s hope their form this year pushes them to be considered in 2019. They are 18 this year I believe and if they find their way into ISC sometime this year it will be interesting come 2019. They might do a Cleary he was only 18.

I think nikorima will a job no doubt he has the skills but I’m not sure he will do THE job long term. just don’t believe he will be our halfback in 2-3 years time

I'd like to think that if Paix or Boyd kill it in the lower grades this year that one of them would get a crack.

I've heard the answer from an ex player and all is not as it seems, in more ways then one...
