With a total of 491 votes for the season, Patrick Carrigan is BHQ's Player of the Year for 2024.

The only player that deserved it.

Congrats to Patty, well deserved.

A noticeably big fall in position for Haas. Are we just so used to his standard that he no longer gets votes, or has he literally dropped off the pace compared to previous years?

Cobbo surprisingly high. It definitely doesn't feel like he had a third placed year.

Pretty sure most of Cobbo’s votes came from a very small amount of games early in the season.

For this reason I think it should be a 3,2,1 score for the top 3 each week.

Here is what a dally m style system produces based on rewarding a 3 points, 2 points, or 1 point to the top 3 players each week.

  1. Carrigan 29
  2. Walsh 18
  3. Cobbo / Willison 13
  4. Staggs / Taupau 10
  5. Reynolds 9
  6. Mam / Mozer 8
  7. Haas 7
  8. Arthars / Hetherington / Jensen / Madden 3
  9. Karapani / Mariner / Te Kura 1
Not surprising to anyone but our second row and Billiam Walters didn’t have a single top 3 performance all season.

Top 3 stays the same even under the Dally M points system.

1. Carrigan - 32
2. Walsh - 19
3. Cobbo - 13
4. Reynolds - 12
5. Willison - 12
6. Staggs - 10
7. Mam - 8
8. Mozer - 8
9. Taupau - 7
10. Haas - 6
11. Arthars - 3
12. Hetherington - 3
13. Jensen - 3
14. Madden - 3
15. Mariner - 3
16. Sailor - 1
17. Te Kura - 1

Haas only played 14 games this year and his record when playing was 5 wins 9 losses.

Votes are generally down when we lose, so he had that going against him, but I'd say it's just because he spent so much time off the field this year.

Patty the absolute star of our season this year... no one else was going to get close.

Crazy that Walsh is second and Reynolds 5th when they basically only played half the season... It shows that Patty was basically the only one stepping up when they were injured.

Cobbo was elite to start the year, but fell away basically as soon as origin started unfortunately. Hope the rep coaches stay away from him for a little bit to let him find consistency and form in NRL before picking him for rep teams straight away again.

Willison the big mover on that list to me... great to see him come in and basically cement himself as a starting 17 regular, which we really needed after losing Flegler. He'll be inline for the starting spot next year. He's a priority re-signing to me.

Absolute standout, cant be argued really. Felt sorry for him in the back end of the season when he was getting **** all support.

He also stood up in Origin 2 and 3, was the only player that didn't seem to fear the contact with NSW.

Great consistent performance in a bludger of a season...would hate to think what 2024 would have been like if Carrigan had a long term injury.

Hass missed quite a few games through injury, that would have set him back some

Afternoon everyone.

First time poster, long time lurker!

Does anyone know when the end of season presentation ball will be? I'm going to assume in the next week or two so that they can officially wrap the season (I doubt that they want to drag it out any longer than they have too). Surely Patty is a shoe-in for the Paul Morgan medal?

He's also probably the only one in contention for Dally M team of the year and Australian selection (possibly Kotoni as well as he is the incumbent centre but that may be a stretch).
