As a QLD supporter... I'm a fan of this pick haha

Hopefully Barrett isn't selected to be an assistant.

We need all hands on deck this year and losing so many from our coaching and support staff as well as our playing group for fucking origin would not have helped things last year.

Excellent choice, looking forward to his halves pairing rotation policy

They must have run out of options so have had to trawl through previous guys who have done the job.
I also suspect they were not overrun with blokes putting their hand up.
No doubt Daley will spin it as "unfinnished business".
Their real mistake was in not doing a deal to extend fittler.

It's not like Fittler's record was that good, he was coming off a loss, and reportedly wanted more than what was deemed acceptable.

They replaced him with a guy who then won the next series.

How you call that a mistake is beyond me. They weren't to know Madge would leave.

Titans doing the dirty on Josiah Pahulu and now he wants an immediate release.

He had a clause in his contract that stated he would receive a bonus payment of $50,000 if he played 20 matches in 2024. He played 19 and then they rested him for the final game despite playing in 17 of their previous 18 games.

Titans claim there was nothing dodgy going on there, but that's a load of shit.

Titans are now saying they will give him the $50,000 in the form of an upgrade to his 2025 contract if he agrees to extend his contract but so far that hasn't been good enough for him.

How fucking tight is their cap that they couldn't give a young bloke a $50k bonus.

Seeing now that he wants a release to head to dogs

Smart pick-up from the Dogs if true.

Also a small-win for the Maroons as well.

I'd rather the Maroons forwards play like Bulldogs, moreso than Titans or Broncos.

Patty the sole exception.

Mo? Tino? Haas?

They're talented but they're prone to lazy efforts in defence and when the going gets tough they go missing.

Payne is also a Blue, unless you're talking up Klese again?

No I was referring to the Payne variety. Klese didn't come to us, so he is a useless hack again.

From memory Fittler was 2/4 series wins (but I could be wrong)
I heard that the problem wasn't money but that they would only give him a 1 yr extension.
In the end they gave Madge 2 yrs I think so freddie was right to be miffed.
It was no secret that Madge would take an NRL coaching job at some stage when a suitable one came up.
SOO was really only a filler until that happened.
The NSWRL rolled the dice with him hoping that wouldn't happen for a while but lucked out.
They can suck sh!t and Madge leaves with a 100% SOO series winning record.
I just hope he can do a job with us.

Vlando ready to suckle on that sweet sweet federal funding teat... when that runs out they'll just punt PNG to the kerb and bring in a different team.

Tigers will be stoked that the wooden spoon is basically sorted out for the next 10yrs now.

What even is their team name?

We knew all the proposed team names before dolphins were brought in, but what is the PNG team going to be called?

Presumably they can't be the hunters because that's the Qld cup team and Redcliffe Dolphins wasn't allowed. I'm assuming they won't be the Kumuls because that's the national team.

Yes , they will be lining up to get a piece of the $600 mil pie.
I wonder how much of that will get to where it's supposed to go.
