2024 NRL Player Movements & Rumours

Just on the Reece Robson situation, the Cowboys will want to be active in the player market considering young Xavier Kerrisk is their only other recognised dummy half on the roster.

I'm not sure if Trevilyan is currently doing a pre-season but he could be an option as well after an unhappy stint at the Raiders.

I presume Todd will turn to either Edwards, Lawton and McIntyre to do a job at 14 but I couldn't picture it being sustainable.

Saw mention of cotter at 9 how he go there in 2020?

Cotter had injury issues when he was a regular 9 but struggled to get past Granville iirc anyway.

He's another that could fill that role but the qualities he brings would be better used in other positions.

Love Kerrisk, made the step up to Cup after Meninga and they’ve got 12 months. If they could get 10 or so NRL games into him in 25 that’s ideal for 26.

In light of the Robson move, I think it goes without saying that we need to lock Mozer up relatively soon. I'm sure teams have already been making inquiries but with that loss, it brings the Cowboys in to play and I imagine they'll have a fair bit of cash to throw at him. The lure of playing next to the likely future QLD 6 would be a solid carrot as well.

The Cowboys reportedly refused to match the Roosters offer for Robson (at least duration wise), because they essentially have a Mozer of their own and they didn't want to put a roadblock in his way.

The Cowboys won't be coming for Mozer

Especially when Mozer doesn't have a roadblock in front of him at the Broncos.

Media talking about Bhunt being a roadblock is craziness... he's literally got a two year expiration date on him... and Mozer will be playing in first grade anyway, because we need two hookers every game.

I think any hold up in re-signing of Mozer is simply because Madge has just arrived and needs to see what he's actually working with.

Mozer's manager will want a long high paying deal to maximise 'potential' whereas broncos and Madge will want to be confident that he's everything he's currently being billed as.

Can't really tell that until Madge has been able to get a look at him.

His manager also knows that the more time his player spends on the field playing games the higher his value goes.

Rushing to sort out a contract now is kind of going in blind from both sides... if it does happen in the near future it should potentially be a shortish deal, because his manager shouldn't want his young high potential player locked away if his value sky rockets and Broncos shouldn't want to be locked into a long contract without being extremely confident in his abilities, which I'm not sure we are yet.

There's also Bukowski coming through, which would make the Broncos hesitant to go all in on Mozer long term.
